Black Monday ??

Quote from Thunderdog:

Interesting. Your first post captioned above was posted on Monday, April 19, 2005 when the market was at around 10120. At that time, you set your protective stop 59 points away at 10179. Although somewhat distant, you did not choose a round number such as 10200, or even 10180. No, it was very specifically 10179. You were then kind enough to repeat this very specific number 2 more times in subsequent posts before the market actually exceeded this very specific number by a couple of points. Imagine my relief when you advised that you did not exit the position when the very specific 10179 was taken out due to the previously unmentioned "system parameters" which kicked in just in time to save the day. Did you at least advise your many attentive followers that there were system parameters as well as very specific exit points, or did they foolishly exit at the very specific 10179?

Ah, to have your cake and eat it, too. But then, you're hanksurfer.
:D

Thunderdog - come on give the guy a break we ALL know that a good trader makes adjustments minute by minute in this game !

What do you want the guy to do ?

Run his fund and trade or post in a chat forum for free with a bunch of idiots critiquing every word.

Last week hank called a 20 pt win because he was taken out of the trade with his 'trailing stop'.

Where was the 'trailing stop' yesterday and today?

Or, was the 20 pt YM win called last week BS?

just joking around to pass the time... nothing personal..... however it was a funny comment/question; asking some other trader whether he is supporting your (losing?) position.

I'll make a "call" since its the 'IN' thing to do..... I say DOW will "test" the 10200 level today!

love,

No problem .... good luck I hope it happens fast and furious I need a spike up to add safely to this short.

:D :D :D

btw, this is far from a losing position, 270 points in the black. :)

Fund???? RRRRRIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHTTTT...

Love to see that disclosure doc!:D

Hey guys, I just want to pass this on you.
My sentiment gauges that I run for major indices are all turned negative right now. In the past it was a sure sign of upcoming sell off. I don't predict anything but I thought it would not harm if I pass this observation. I'm buying puts personally to protect my positions.
Cheers

bonne chance... frankly I hope you hammer it next time!

Doesn't matter to me I've frick'n given up trying to "figure" out this market in the very s-t. I have options positons and going to hold them accordingly... (longs & shorts) some go out as far as Oct-Dec &-Jan 06! In the meantime I'm gonna work on my jump shot, backhand and driving distance.

I could not agree with you more. Hank wasd totally wrong about black monday, yet somehow he managed to say he was right on another call, whose thread i'm still looking for. He's doing well as the wrestling villian, talking out of both sides of his mouth.

Hank, just admit you were wrong, please

I have no doubt that hanksurfer appreciates your vote of confidence. And while I regarded him quite favorably when I first started coming here, my current view is decidedly different.

Critique his every word? Hardly. I don't have that much free time. I referred to a very specific number that he referred to very specifically. Let him make all the predictions he wants. I pass my time between setups by spotting slippery salamanders for sport.

As for your other comment, hanksurfer is a multi-tasker without peer. He sells t-shirts and mugs on one trading web site, has another he recently started, hob-nobs with big-wig traders and runs a fund. All this, and he has the presence of mind to, as you so adroitly put it, "make adjustments minute by minute in this game." And was there not some scuttlebutt not too long ago about his possibly writing a book in the near future? I could be mistaken on that one. Please advise.

Do you like impressionist art? I do. I have several prints. Sometimes, just for fun, I like to squint my eyes a bit. If you do it just right, you can see whatever you want to see. Are you squinting now?

yeah, right on Thunderdog. Someone ought to post those exchanges between inandlong and marketsurfer from last year. Then these guys who are on the hank bandwagon will realize what utter fools they are for believing this nonsense.

My favorite part is when Marketsmurfer refers everyone to the website for his "hedge fund". When u get there, its one big blank page that requires one to register. Hence, there is no info available, just some web page that Hank presumably never finished, kind of reminds me marketsurfer.com which was missing all the links as well.

I give up ... LOL

ET is never happy and you can never win in this place even after the guy makes a 250 point call.

I will say it again Hank good call ....but I don't know why you even bother.

Good trading to everyone !
