Biden’s job approval takes nosedive

In DC public opinion spends like capital. Approval over 50% for a president is seen as necessary to pass legislation of almost any kind. The crisscross in the polling average below is the worst thing you want to see. It jeopardizes the infrastructure bill that already passed the senate and scuttles almost all ambitions of passing a larger reconciliation package.

Covid spread began taking its toll but the Afghanistan withdrawal going fubar pushed Biden into negative territory. Trump was never able to pull out of this and didn’t get anything done after passing the Republican tax plan.

The point is if this persists for Biden it could end up becoming baked in and we could end up having another stagnant presidency.

I think Biden's presidency is lame duck at this point. Infra is going nowhere w/o reconciliation and reconciliation is going nowhere w/o the GOP moles in the dem. party. Biden just doesn't have it in him to bully these obstructionists. Pelosi's just posturing and even if reconciliation makes it out of the House, it's DOA in the Senate.

They need reconciliation/infra to get some brownie points. I think AFG dip is temporary but will continue this trend or remain low as no bills pass.

FWIW: I think this was fairly apparent since Biden started w/his "bipartisan/reaching across the isle" spiels when he took office.

Die hard DNC social media posters dumping on Biden who almost never went against the party or Biden before?
Does this mean the media package went out for the quarter?

a. Time to distance from Biden and try and save some seats next year?
b. trail balloons for Harris coming out soon?
or
c. just the rats leaving the sinking ship?

Biden needs to STFU about his precious son who was lost. It is disrespectful to every family in this country, because every family in this country has had loss. He just NEED TO SHUT ABOUT IT already. Stop using his name in your speeches to try to prove some point.

Linden Johnson was the king of getting your face and bullying legislation through Congress. Biden’s strength was competent leadership and bipartisanship.

The senate is exactly the reason why approval matters. Senators will turn on their own mother if they felt it would give them any edge in the next election. However, The infrastructure bill is not dead because it came out of the senate, unless it has a blue slip problem I’m not aware of - the house can simply pass it on majority vote and send it to Biden.

Progressive dreams of tweaking the infrastructure bill and marrying it to a larger package are dead. That’s just something they have to accept.

A smaller stand alone reconciliation married with debt ceiling and fiscal year funding is possible but that depends on if Biden can right the ship. The key here is if Biden can break out of low approval soon and I mean like a month to six weeks before this crisscross pattern get baked in and sets like jell-o.
