“I won’t be watching this year.”
Travis Tritt is taking a stand against Team USA and the Tokyo Olympics in light of recent protests.
“I’ve always been a huge supporter of our USA Olympic teams,” begins Tritt on his official Twitter Thursday.
The country singer has a history with the Olympic Games himself. “I was actually onstage at the Olympics in Atlanta the night before the bombing in 1996,” he continues, citing the tragedy.
Travis Tritt “won’t be watching” the Tokyo Olympics “this year,” however. With the hashtag “
#GowokeGobroke,” Tritt makes his stance clear on the recent protests of U.S. Track and Field Olympian Gwen Berry.

Hmmm...why did they not take the same stance the past few years when White athletes were protesting on the Podium while receiving their medals ???
Regardless, how do they plan to boycott it other than to just not watch TV at all considering all the major TV networks have signed contracts to broadcast the Tokyo Olympic games, there will be articles in the local newspapers considering there are a few Olympic athletes from his home state that will obviously be discussed in the newspapers and online that do not protest but support the team they're representing.
Also, there will be celebrations or parties for the athletes from his home state during the Olympic Games...
He'll just be better off boycotting the sporting events that the protesters are competing in even though they will
not be allowed to protest at the Olympics and boycott Track n Field events even though he never supported Track n Field.
The good thing, he has the free speech to announce he's boycotting and the freedom to protest about those that actually are protesting something else that he has never supported.
I think when the Olympic Games start...he should kneel or stand tall with his fists in the air and announce on social media why he's protesting the Olympic Games competition even though there will be no protesting allowed inside the competition.
The outside of the competition is a different story considering citizens of Japan are already protesting the Olympics continuing during their ongoing problems with Covid.
----------
It is unclear how Tritt plans to boycott the U.S. Olympics other than abstaining from viewership. So far, no statement has come from the National Olympic Committee for or against Berry’s protest.
Others have spoken out in line with the country musician prior, though. Former college football star and U.S. Army Ranger Jake Bequette had similar words on the matter June 30.

As for Jake Bequette that feels the same...what will he do considering there are military soldiers on the 2021 Olympic Team that do not protest...what will he do if / when his military base and commanding officers honors those soldiers when they return home from the Olympic competition...
We he go AWOL and tell his commanders I will not stand in formation because I'm protesting our fellow soldiers involvement in the Olympic Games even though they did not protest ???
My point, good luck with their "protesting of the Olympic Games" because they didn't do it when White athletes were protesting and we all know why nor did Jake Bequette object when his teammates on the Arkansas football team were protesting about how the University / NCAA was not being fair to athletes at all sanction NCAA events...
He used the system to his advantage and supported his protesting teammates that were treated unfairly via continuing to play football along their side.
As for myself, if I don't like a protester...it's very simple for me...watch another Olympic sport event considering I like a lot of Olympic sports...
Rowing, Judo, Boxing, Fencing, Swimming and there's a few new sporting events I want to watch such as
Surfing and
Skateboarding if I do not feel like watching Women's Hammer Throw / Shotput because its an event with protesters.
