A federal judge on Tuesday threw cold water on the Biden administration's 100-day deportation moratorium - a central component of the newly minted president's immigration priorities.
US District Judge Drew Tipton, a Trump appointee and former Marine Sergeant, issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) sought by the state of Texas, which sued the Biden administration on Friday in response to a Department of Homeland Security memo which instructed immigration agencies to halt most deportations, according to the Associated Press. Tipton concluded that the Biden administration had failed "to provide any concrete, reasonable justification for a 100-day pause on deportations."

Tipton stated in a Tuesday order that the directive from acting Homeland Security Secretary David Pekoske that halted removing those who already had final orders of removal against them appeared to run afoul of the Administrative Procedure Act, which governs how federal agencies conduct rulemaking. The same law was used to block a number of Trump administration actions as well.
The Court finds that, by ordering a 100-day pause on all removals of aliens already subject to a final order of removal, it appears that the January 20 Memorandum is clearly not in accordance with, or is in excess of, the authority accorded to the Attorney General pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1231(a)(1)(A)."

I agree it is stupid. All kinds of diseases are named after where they were discovered and that does not indicate that where they are found is where they started.
I had a thought about the amount of EOs Biden is issuing. Biden is issuing EOs at a blistering pace and really transforming government and I think they are taking a page from Trump’s communication strategy. That is, they flooding the conversation with so much action that the media is having a hard time digging in to this stuff because by the time they scratch the surface on one Biden is already issuing a slate of new EOs. It’s keeping the media off balance.
