Joe Biden’s speech last night was very good. Once again Biden showed he comes from a place of moral clarity and it has a way of rising above and moving through any doubt and past the attacks.
I said before that during the debates Biden has a way of losing the debate but winning the argument. People actually tune in to what he is saying. I think republicans underestimate this with their attacks on his mental acuity.
As to his speech, I have a friend who is a pastor and theologian and we often talk about morality being found in life and love and light. Biden’s speech was deeply religious and moral without proselytizing. It really was well done, IMO. Maybe it was geared toward people like me but I think most people will connect with what he is saying on many different levels.
If only every interaction in the white house is a prepared speech with a teleprompter, Joe is all set. It is isn't.
I said long, long ago in the primaries that if Joe gets the nomination that God or Mother Nature or whatever would punish me by having to listen to Biden say in his acceptance speech: "As my father always said, Joey, a job is more than just a paycheck...it is your dignity, blah, blah, blah." And yup there it was last night, right on schedule. Pushing the same old schtick he has pushed for 50 years. The lefties feverishly giddy if their man can make it through a speech he has been working on at home for months and has a teleprompter.
The rest of the world is putting people who are at the top of their game in life in charge. Meanwhile the dems are attempting to put someone who is at the bottom of game in charge but not to worry if he can read a teleprompter.
In regard to the overdiscussed issue of Joe and Trump in a debate, I don't join with those who think that Trump will wipe the floor with Joe. Those debates seldom have any real debating in them and everything will be softbally. You approach it with the hope that it is a popcorn eating session while watching a gladiator fight. Then they start off making you listen to some video question from some kid in Teaneck, N.J. and the candidates pace the floor explaining why his grandmother in El Salvador should or should not be able to join them in Teaneck.
Or some network pretends to ask Joe the difficult question about whether he is fit, setting him up for the "just follow me around and watch me" line that we have heard a hundred times. Then the move on.
Put Joe out there freestyle on the trail though and he does not survive a day without messing up.
Joe Biden is too far gone to be President. If you and your theological buddy want to drink chamomile tea and ruminate about how Joe radiates an inner light that speaks to your sixth chakra then fine. But if he is elected his handlers will be running the president. He is just cardboard cut-out of a presidential candidate.
All of the countries that do not wish us well, and all of our domestic enemies as well- whether swamprats or looters- want Joe Biden to be president too.
