quite possible, if i remember there are literally something like 200 "ray's" pizza joints in nyc lol, completely unaffiliated. pretty odd.

wow, that is very odd. i thought it was one chain and was confused about the inconsistencies.

thanks for the info !

there are several two boots locations (one is on the lower east side in the village, one is on the west side near the hospital in the village, and one is in grand central station).

most of the ray's pizzas are completely disassociated with each other. my fave ray's is the one on 11th/6th in the village. but almost any pizza shop in new york is better than pizza most other places in the country. i'm 2 hours north of nyc now, and the pizza's nowhere near as good; the 'best' up here is average for nyc.

i like joe's as well...first ate there 10+ years ago.

there's also a john's pizza near the expo site in midtown (43/8th?).

Well Chicago is #1, BUT Pitt. does have some good 'za. Weirdly though, there is a Pittsburgh pizzaria in Ft. Lauderdale called Primanti Brothers Pizza that has the worst pizza I've ever eaten. The sauce tastes like Chef Boyardee. Nothing against the Chefman, just not on pizza. In fact Lauderdale has the worst pizza imaginable. How can a town full of New Yorkers and Chicagoans be so lame in producing such a dietary staple.

try D'salvos.....I remember them as being good....

Thanks Cohiba. Next time I'm down I'll give them a look. Looks like they're out near Plantation. Bit of a drive, but I'll try it. Also we'll hook up sometime in the "Grove." Unfortunately I've only been getting down to SoFla like 3-4 days at a time, every few months. If I can ever get on a run........
