Best Pizza

Quote from Pabst:

Well Chicago is #1, BUT Pitt. does have some good 'za. Weirdly though, there is a Pittsburgh pizzaria in Ft. Lauderdale called Primanti Brothers Pizza that has the worst pizza I've ever eaten. The sauce tastes like Chef Boyardee. Nothing against the Chefman, just not on pizza. In fact Lauderdale has the worst pizza imaginable. How can a town full of New Yorkers and Chicagoans be so lame in producing such a dietary staple.

yeah, primanti bros is a poor example of pittsburgh pizza. they are a sandwich shop in pburgh. however, they have awesome roastbeef sandwiches complete with cole slaw and french fries piled onto the roast beef.

Well, the word Pizza without Chicago somewhere in the sentence is at best a distraction.

If I were you, I would order a stuffed spinach from here:

1012 Church St
Evanston, IL 60201-3623
Phone: (847) 328-0031

Have them freeze it, and overnight it to you.

I would like to know the best pizza places in NY, NJ or CA. Please put location or address so that I can get there when I go to NY for the up coming expo.

Since I'm from Cali, I'll start by posting my favorite place called Domineos (NY style) in Hollywood on Fairfax in between Beverly and Melrose.

Jeff--

Nellie's Place in Waldwick NJ on Franklin Tpke.
20 minutes from the George Washington Bridge up RT 17.

Or Kinchley's In Mahwah also off RT 17 on Franklin Tpke....10 minutes further up.

Both of us love very thin crusts and these are both wonderful with a rich homemade sauce. Everytime we go back to visit the kids in NJ we end up there.:D

Anyone know of any pizza place that uses Salsa instead of regular tomato paste?
The kitchen is an interesting testing ground.

CPK has a pizza called the Tostada Pizza. I order it everytime I go there.

Tostada---
"Southwestern black beans, sharp Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses topped with chilled shredded lettuce, fresh tomato salsa, green onions and crispy tortilla strips with our garden-herb ranch dressing. Also available with grilled lime chicken."
