Best book on Lifting

Quote from atticus:

Acai fruit is not eaten locally where it is grown. It's considered a "weed". Both contain phytoestrogens (estrogen from plants). They act as exogenous mimetics to natural (endogenous) estrogen.
Acai contains estrogen? Oh man, that's it, I am finding something else to eat.

I wonder if they make a smoothie that contains testosterone  What is wrong with these plants anyway? Are there any benefits to estrogen for a man other than being able to sing with the castrates?

From what I remember reading some weak estrogens are good because they fill the estrogen receptors on the cells and block out the strong estrogens that cause the bad side effects.

Good question. I did a google search. According to the article (link below) men need a proper balance of testosterone/estrogen. Interesting read.

One report showed that estrogen levels of the average 54-year-old
man are higher than those of the average 59-year-old woman. (wow!)

Geeesys. So what's a man to do? Maybe just the act of exercising and lifting is the best and most natural counter-agent. And then of course, don't make a possible situation worse by eating food that contains more of the stuff!

A 2010 meta-analysis of fifteen placebo-controlled studies said that "neither soy foods nor isoflavone supplements alter measures of bioavailable [testosterone] concentrations in men."[27] Furthermore, Isoflavones supplementation has no effect on sperm concentration, count or motility, and show no changes in testicular or ejaculate volume.[28][29]"

I have a general question to the community.... What foods and or supplements do you guys use for Protein.... I'm not bothered if they are Protein specific or part of a general diet. I've been using an app on my iPhone for minding calorie intake to tighten up and have found that I am woefully low on Protein intake. Found that for my size and workouts I should be somewhere around 125-145 and at best I'm in the 80-90 range.

Talk to any endocrinologist who treats adult males and you will hear a resounding YES.
