Bernie Madoff's Son Found Dead

Quote from Ghost of Cutten:

Yeah, how dare a woman get a divorce when she finds out her husband was a lying, scheming crook who ruined the lives of hundreds of people and charities. What a witch!

ROFLMAO!

Quote from tortoise:

He hangs himself with a dog's leash. On the anniversary of his father's arrest. After sending his wife an email telling her to get someone to check up on the kid.

Folks, you're not going to find a "suicide" more pregnant with subtext, anywhere. Look for more of these "suicides" to come ...

Well-said.

Quote from WinstonTJ:

Except as of now Mark wasn't running any scams nor was he a knowing participant in any.

Totally with you on this and De mortuis nil nisi bonum.

Quote from flytiger:

There is such a thing as peace of mind. Wealth does not buy it.

You don't think there are millions living a decent life, not rich, not poor, at least in material goods, that aren't happy?. Don't inflict your sensibilities on others. Set your goals, and be happy when you reach them, understanding they come with a whole new set of problems. Reach out. Teach. Bring people to your level. Drag them up, instead of pushing them down. Empowerment. It's a happiness that if you've not felt it, you are truly deprived. I am very blessed having several people look up to me, admire my values, and allow me to help them. Try it.

What do you think the Sith Lord is thinking right now? It's the end of his life for all intents and purposes. Look at Madoff. He's one demented son of a bitch, but I wonder if he thinks it all was worth it? Think about it. He's crapping on an aluminum toilet with two other guys watching. Nice.

There's six handles on a casket. Wanna end up like Mark Madoff? That 20 mm ain't spit. I suggest you start nurturing six friends.

I ought to write a book. But I can't bear to relive this. They didn't even claim the body.

Great writer. You should write a book. I added you to my buddy list.

Quote from LEAPup:

I don't hold pro ball players in contempt. They're entertainers, not heros. Now mike vick? I'd like to see a pack of wolves carry him into the woods for an evening meal! I like to watch football, and enjoy the entertainment.

As for Pat Tillman, he was a true hero in every essence imo. Turned down millions selflessly, and gave his life serving a Country that is proud of him. Hey, even Elvis joined the Army. I'm not a fan of Elvis music (mainly an age factor I guess, me being late 30's), but respected what he did in the middle of his singing career by voluntarily enlisting.

I guess, "thank ya! Thank ya 'vera' much baby." :)

Jimi Hendrix also served in the military, before he wrote "Machine Gun". I consider him a hero in the music realm, but not for his military service. And in reality, that is "your" opinion and nothing more. Tell that to the children of some fomer NFL greats, who happen to also be great role models and heros to their families and others. Sorry, but your comment makes you appear a narrow-minded pompous asshole.

Quote from Ghost of Cutten:

First, how do you know she said that? No marriage license I have ever seen includes the words "for richer or poorer". Unless you were at the ceremony, you have no idea what they promised to each other. Some people get married and fully and openly intend to go wife-swapping, swinging, attending orgies and so on. Another couple's marriage is not what you personally think it should be, it's what the two people agree upon with each other, and the legal obligations they undertake.

Second, the guy made some promises too. Being a lying rip-off artist means he broke those promises. If you make a deal with someone, and they break their side of the deal, then you are no longer bound to your side of the deal. Basic contract law, basic morality. What is so hard to understand about that?

It's just like cases of infidelity. If a husband or wife cheats, and they had promised fidelity to each other, then the spouse has the right to leave, because their partner broke their marital promise. Ditto for things like this. It's not like he innocently lost money by a bad business decision. He lied, he stole, he defrauded - even charities, old people's life savings. I guess if he was a child molester you'd expect her to stay too? Get real.

Agreed. WTF is so difficult to understand.

Quote from Ghost of Cutten:
At least pro sports keeps you fit, in good physical condition - this makes you live longer, look better, drain less of society's resources on medical treatment, fuck your wife better, set a better role model for kids, be able to physically protect yourself and your family. Compare to the typical obese, lazy-ass pussified wimp on main street.
Another writer. :D

Quote from Rearden Metal:

I actually think the (remote) possibility exists that Mark Madoff was able to ignore the evidence all around him, and actually delude himself for years into thinking his dad was legit. Sometimes when the truth is ugly enough to be devastating, people are able to fool themselves into believing all kinds of ridiculous notions. I'm not saying that's definitely what happened in this case... I'm merely open to the possibility that it may or may not have gone down that way.

Totally possible.
