Quote from mrbud:
What a shame. All those troops that died since Korea up until now were all in vain. How stupid of them, right?
Just let those planes keep on crashing into our buildings, let them keep ramming our ships, let them saw off more heads.
I finally see the light. How stupid of me all these years...
Thanks Reaver. You're right on!
'Planes crashing into our buildings': we cause 50 9/11 events EVERY year. Approx. 2,300 people died in 9/11: our military is responsible for 5 MILLION deaths since 1950. We are the world's largest arms producuer and arm exporter which increases our guilt even more. Quit crying that the arms we exported are now being used against us.
'Ramming our ships': what the fuck are our ships doing in the Mediterranian Sea?!?!? How many Russian & Chinnese ships do WE allow in the Gulf of Mexico? Our militarism is bankrupting our economy and our 'soul' (figurative; not the kind that doesn't live after you die).
As far as Reaver trying to justify the choice of service personnel by blaming it on our 'leadership': this is the exact same excuse given by war criminals at Nuremburg. The devil..er..I mean...gov't made me do it!!!
There comes a point in all lives in which you must decide if you will do what's RIGHT or what's popular. A time when you decide whether to follow 'leaders' (who profit by war-mongering) by participating in pointless, criminal wars or taking the MORAL ground and saying 'fuck you'.
I feel bad that many people have chosen the way of war: for our soldiers and their victims. I wish they hadn't died and I'm sorry that their deaths were in vain.
Ask any parent, sibling, wife, or child of a causality from wars we waged in Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran, on & on if THEY think the death of their loved one was worth it.
