"Bear market over in October" -- Michael Hartnet, BOA

In EWT, according to the "rule of alternation", wave 2 and wave 4 will each take a different form.

One more thing to consider:

Wave 4 usually retraces 38.2% of Wave 3, but once in a blue moon has been observed to hit 50% of Wave 3. In the current scene it has already retraced almost 78.6% of Wave 3 and is still in 5-wave mode.

Possible? Hey, who knows, this is an unusual BEAR scene but I know this from deep inside ........... BEAR will not denigrate its own Master Commander (Wave 3) thusly by abrogating Wave 3's umph. No Sir., BEAR will not allow such demolalization of its supreme commander, the one who contains the "recognition wave as its 3rd of 3rd"

I looked into Elliot Wave a couple years ago and came to the conclusion that it's too subjective to use. Or at least I could not figure out how to code it into an algorithm that could be back-tested. This might be a lazy excuse, but if it works so well, then why isn't everyone using it?
lazy excuse

I looked into Elliot Wave a couple years ago and came to the conclusion that if it works so well, then why isn't everyone using it?

And if everyone used it, it would stop working :D

The paradox of markets..... the only time we ever agree is when we're all wrong!

Can Elliot wave predict what Putin will do next or what happens with inflation?
%%
NO;
nor can BAC predict\ LOL.
Sounds like they read few copies of[STA] Stock Traders Almanac, but that doesn't predict also.
JAN forecaster is good[STA] probabilities = SPY down Jan =88% chance of a down year.
But even that high probability ,[ not a prediction] when it fails; may fail big like 1987, 2009:D:D

I don’t think the market being bearish is a matter of concern anymore. We can always find an edge if our system is modified to suit the market condition. And just waiting for the market to recover would not be the right approach when it comes to trading

In this September 9 video Larry Williams predicts a low in early October and then some upward movement:

he also points out some similarity between the current Down Jones period and 1913:

and also with 1981 (the latter quite similar to the one Thomas N. Bulkowski had already published on his Site in December 2021):
