Banning Illegal immigrants? Wouldnt that destroy the US economy

The families that decide this for Mexico...will simply not stand for this...
99.9% of America has large amounts of legal minimum wage (or close to minimum wage) workers. Only places such as Beverly Hills, Malibu Beach, or the Hamptons lack this demographic.
It's not a matter of willingness, but of necessity. Minimum wage is better than no wage. A large number of people in this country don't graduate high school and have no vocational training. Then there are the elderly that have to work through retirement greeting people at Wallmart and such.
It's disheartening to imagine that there are people who think that only backwoods hick towns have minimum wage workers. This is the world we live in. Whether it be illegals, single moms, inner city high school drop-outs, or full-time college students, there will always be people willing to work for the minimum allowable pay. That is why we have a "minimum wage".
The U.S. would be fine if it stepped up enforcement of removing illegal aliens. Most illegal aliens perform non- essential work. Many metro areas would see fast food prices, lawn care, home improvement contracting and full- service gas prices rise 10- 15%. This would hardly derail the economy. Think of how you are spending $60/ week more on gas for your cars and much more indirectly.
Agriculture prices would be about the same! Work conditions might be better. Having lived in an agricultural area for a short time, I learned of how easy it is for a company to legally amass a seasonal workforce of agricultural laborers. These workers might be from countries like Korea or anywhere in the World. Their pay is $8 or $9/ hour which is higher than minimum wage and comparable to the pay that the illegals get.
Furthermore, WWII saw a huge dislocation of skilled labor and buying power yet the economy survived. I am all for easy but legal immigration and guest visa programs. The real shame is ignoring the problem and seeing illegals die in shipping containers on the news.

and in answer to your question - no.
and not that they are comparable in many ways (since slavery was pure evil), this is a very similar argument to that made by many pro-slavery folks back in the day.
illegal aliens have become the invention that never had a necessity. and most credible economic reports i have read show that illegal aliens cost society on the whole - MORE than they contribute (lost taxes, medical care, jailing of criminals, etc. etc.)

I don't recall at the moment if you were the one who was insulting Canada or was about to suggest annexing canada for its natural resources but your idea of making mexico part of the US ranks high up on the ridiculousness scale even if joking.
As a former home builder, I can tell you price of a new house would go up nicely. How much do you think you would have to pay a white man to dig beams for a foundation or to pour concrete ? In Texas, illegals are involved in every aspect from the foundation to the landscaping. The only 2 areas here where they are not involved is plumbing and electrical due to license reasons. In the housing sector, you are hard press to find a white man doing anything physical other than being the general contractor or owning the business that employees the illegals. I have seen a lot change over the past 15 years, and people will argue that the illegals are taking Americans jobs. But the fact is the Americans have just gotten to damn lazy so someone else has stepped up to plate. Would the economy collapse ? I doubt it, but your pocket book would definitely feel it over time.
