What's your point?you have no idea what race politics is like in the US if you think that 'diversity' resembles the US
I see, you don't catch irony. No worries. But you do expect a trained electrician or plumber to fix your problems, or are you satisfied with the nice guy who comes knocking on your door?I'll take a highly rated Uber driver over a taxi driver any day. The car and person is generally cleaner and the people are nicer. You don't need some bullshit government training to drive people across town. "Complexity of a waiter's job" LOL, WTF
Yes.. if its not about money then how can these government subsidized college kids ever be self sufficient? They will continue to rely on the government. Give me a break, you sound ignorant. Now you're starting to sound stupid. Do you think education is all about MATERIAL SUCCESS???
We already have too many mindless/heartless idiots on the market who only care about money. Is that what you really want for our future?![]()

Why is the government paying for sociology, communications, and art degrees? Its ridiculous.
Perhaps the government will only help pay for certain degrees such as engineering?
Even then its a slippery slope.
the original point is that it is stupid to draw lessons from singpore for the USWhat's your point?

Americans constantly reduce everything to the most common denominator. There rarely seem to be any effort to rise up and create value from peoples accomplishments. It's a result of abysmal education standards, functional mindsets and total lack of intellectual sophistication from those who think there's more money to be made unclogging toilets than going to college, or suggesting getting rid of all but engineering degrees because they're useless. Hell, you don't need an engineering degree to unclog sewers!
While I can live with an untrained waiter ruining my meal, I can only suggest one to check the apprenticeship and training one goes through before becoming a factory worker at BMW or Mercedes Benz in Germany versus one at GM or Ford in Michigan. There's a reason Tesla is scouting the world for the best minds.
There's a Physician Shortage In the U.S. Here's Why | TimeI often wonder why there are so many doctors these days. Most of them are doctors only in name might I add. They've chosen their profession for money and prestige rather than saving lives. Even worse, why are there so many third-level med schools that crank out these inferior doctors (although not all, but I imagine a lot of them shouldn't be doctors)? It's no wonder why medical malpractice suits are going up every year. No wonder then why the insurance premiums these doctors pay are skyrocketing. As a result, no wonder why these idiot doctors can't help but overcharge their patients. No wonder (you knew that was coming, didn't ya?) why the overall medical costs are rising year after year for everyone---duh!
You and @Innervoice make a great pair...the original point is that it is stupid to draw lessons from singpore for the US
