He grabbed the taser, what if grabbed the gun, office is now dead.

Taser isn't designed to kill (although it can) its designed to incapacitate.

Police are trained to go equal or 1 level higher force than they are receiving.

100% justified in this case.

Police are not allowed to draw their guns to use deadly force unless facing potentially deadly harm to themselves or others. This has been a very clear policy in policing in the U.S. for decades. There is no "1 level higher force than they are receiving" when it comes to using deadly force -- the end result of doing this is homicide charges for the cop.

He was a threat to citizens at that point also if you take into account
his prior felony's, incarceration and warrant couple with refusal to be arrested.

At that point cop probably knew that, I would assume his name was already
ran back at the station.

I have not see the video but as I understand it the guy was a very high likelihood for being drunk. He should have been breathalysed within minutes. The longer you leave things the greater levels of anxiety get with people.

I think it was not about the running as much as it was when the suspect turned and pointed a weapon at the police officer.

I don't understand the massive effort to push acceptance of violently resisting arrest. I just don't. There is nothing on that full video that shows where the police acted improperly. They were polite when they pulled him over, polite during the DUI testing, and then he began to get physical.

The officer was reaching for his gun prior to the firing of the taser out him, he was going to shoot the guy no matter what.

I do not think the police acted inappropriately at all for the entire encounter up to the shooting, incluyding handling the resistance.

The officer just went to easy for his gun to shoot a running unarmed perp. That is where the system failed and the police need an overhaul because as some on this board would say (not you), running is a crime punishable by death. I do not think the officer is subject to criminal action but definitely disciplinary acton of some kind because the RoE are systemic and need to be changed for any perp.

1. Suspect was running away and was not armed with a deadly weapon

2. Suspect was not a fleeing felon in the midst of causing serious injury or threat of life to anyone.

All the cop had to do was chase down the slow drunk fuck and baton his knee from behind and he would have gone down like a sack of potatoes. I have never heard of police being properly trained in the arts to use their baton, they just swing it like a baseball bat on someone's head (which is stupid).

As someone who has trained in martial arts, if you give me a solid wood baton I can take someone/anyone down from behind without shooting them in the back 3 times.
