Atkins Article

Pretty disappointed by the Dateline show. Very one-sided.

They had some guy on there saying the fat epidemic has been caused by low fat diets. This is the 'argument' I've heard Atkins make a lot. Just because there is a correlation between the recommendation to eat low fat and an increase in the number of obese. They are assuming that most of these overweight individuals have actually followed this recommendation.

They showed a bunch of fat people walking down the street when he was being interviewed. I guarantee you if you went up to one of those 300 lb people and asked what they eat, they're not going to say they eat a low fat diet including lots of fruits and vegetables, legumes, beans... More likely it's the biggie size meal at Wendy's, the king-sized Hershey bar...

gee sus will the lies never end..

the truth is as plain as the nose on your face.

One woRd:

"Then, on Feb. 10, Veronica Atkins confirmed that, in fact, her husband did have artery blockages. She said that Dr. Atkins "did have some progression of his coronary artery disease in the last three years of his life including some new blockage of a secondary artery that was remedied during this admission."

Good point. Also, during his Larry King interview about a year ago, his face didn't look like he was obese.

You'd be surprised. What did the "low-fat" diets that doctors provided suggest? Pasta, potatoes, bread, cereal, popcorn, rice, angel food cake . . . Try eating those kinds of foods and lose weight.
