At least 60 felons charged with violent crimes while out on bond in Chicago in 2021

Record year for violence in Chicago

The two-year spike in killings in Chicago mirrors a national phenomenon. At least 12 American cities saw record numbers of homicides last year, and from 2019 to 2020, the number of murders nationwide jumped 30%, the largest single-year increase in 50 years.

In Chicago, the increase in murders from 2019 to 2020 was 55%, according to CPD homicide data, though last year’s 3% increase over 2020 trailed the national increase of nearly 7%.

So we watched endless civil disorder in 2020. In 2021 we watched violent crime reaching new peaks in many cities while idiots pushed to defund the police and some DAs adopted "catch & release" no-cash bail policies. Why are we surprised in the least bit that people are rushing out to buy guns. Heck the government even gave many people pandemic money to do so.

Many of those guns will end up in the hands of criminals like they always do.

So what's your solution for stopping legal guns from getting into the hands of criminals? May I suggest stop & frisk to take the guns back and lock up the criminals.

You do recall why that was stopped? Right? Are you saying racist cops are a thing of the past now? ... or are you saying you have a solution for the problems that came along with giving cops the ability to willy-nilly SAF?

It was never stopped. It was slowed in NYC by a combination of a liberal judge's order and political pressure, but is standard practice supported by Supreme Court law throughout much of the rest of the country.

Sad how y'all support flooding the streets with guns than want cops to deal with the consquences. What % of cops killed are killed with guns?
