At least 60 felons charged with violent crimes while out on bond in Chicago in 2021

23 million guns sold in one year and many don't seem to understand why there so much gun violence in America.

You debaters should recognized that:

There exists in the US a criminal transportation infrastructure that can move illegal goods (drugs to motor vehicles) to any point in the US.

When the US effectively shut down domestic meth production, the cartels more than filled the void!

This makes outlawing firearms generally equivalent to only outlawing firearms for law abiding citizens. Criminals will still have access to them, and to all of the other outlawed things they aren't supposed to be able to obtain.

The order of operations should be (good luck):

Shut down trafficking networks
Prevent new ones from being established
Remove guns from unlawful holders

Not:
Pass a general bill making it illegal for general gun ownership.

If the US Government can do the above three, they would earn a lot of respect and trust.

Passing a bill without doing the above three is stupid and political napalm.
