The media was talking about another fatality in another location, but linked to the school shootings - I wonder if that was a parent/guardian that he killed before going on a rampage at the school.

So sad for the parents - they will not celebrate the holidays for a very long time, if ever.

May the angels rest in peace.

Don't think so RN. His mom was the teacher there wasn't she. Parenting can only account for so much. I don't know what all is going on today in our society. I think it's more complex than just blaming parents.

My kids are 16 and 19 - I know what crap is out there because they tell me about all of it

Kids still develop through their early/ mid 20s.... agree parenting isn't the end all be all - but it is a significant part of a kids development - and how they view themselves

If gun laws would provide safety, I would certainly submit. But they will not. They will only stop law abiding citizens from protecting themselves. Criminals that have the intent to kill another human with a weapon will not stop at the illegal aspect of obtaining said weapon.
