Think about it, that is over 200 years ago. The weapons evolved quite a bit over that period of time.

I am a strong supported of our right to bear arms, but it is a good idea to ban certain weapons and high capacity clips.

Of course you want to disregard the constitution because that is what liberals like you dream about. Its not going to happen because many people would fight to preserve their constitutional rights. As to the constitution, Article V describes the process for amending the constitution. The 2nd amendment is not immune to
change or repeal. As such, I am a conservative to suggest employing an original article of the constitution for the furtherance of one of the original goals of the purpose of the creation of a federal union: to advance the public welfare.

Thinking that the freedom to acquire and use semi automatic assualt rifles ought to be absolute makes not one a Conservative, or a die hard NRA member, or even a John Bircher. It makes one a fantasist who is incapable of participating in any meaningful public discourse on serious contemporary issues. Barring any change in this kind of mentality, well, you already know how I feel. Asshole.

As a person who is conservative.
I saw first hand what is like to work in a prosecutors office.
I can tell you our biggest fear is the govt.
Unless you really understand... the power to charge and the attitude and brain power of law enforcement and D.A.s ... you are not properly sacred. Some very smart people in prosecutors office... showed little regard for the constitution or what is right... they just wanted to win.
(not all, but enough to be concerned)

When you combine that with politicians or political ambitions... the power of the the govt is scary.

So... I really do believe out population needs guns; responsible sane people should have a few of them. Our founders were very bright when they set up this country.

But, I also thing we should have a very stringent application process.
Full auto / that should require ultra high standards. Equipment under lock and key... no access to third persons. Maybe more.

Semi - auto. Equipment under lock and key... no access to third persons. Maybe more.

We must ensure kids don't get their hands on these things.
If a semi auto owner can't afford to secure their equipment, they should not have a semi auto weapon.

The world is filled with people who have different opinions and points of view and over the course of a lifetime you will have to deal with them. If you simply lose control every time you are confronted with someone who holds different views you are going to have a rough ride, I suspect that you already are. You are too young to be so embittered and full of hate.

You don't see us exploding in rage or wetting our pants because many of us are veterans and just aren't that excitable. I'm a pilot and have done some test flying and have faced death several times and the idea that some clown on the internet is hissing and spitting and making threats just doesn't impress me. Sorry.
