Arkansas lawmakers pass religious-belief bill

Dude, your misinterpreting what both me and GW are saying, neither one of us disagrees that businesses have rights, and they should have the right to do whatever they want, all we pointed out is that its a bad business decision to play politics.

If you are running a business there is only 1 color that matters and its green, bottom line is that, pissing off half the country whether its liberals or conservatives, does nothing to help your bottom line.

Brother Maxie, you are talking about money...i.e. making a buck.
I'm talking about things far more important.

Interesting... Everything i've read their sales have increased every year? I'd buy their stock if they'd sell it.

Guess I'll have to settle for a chicken sandwich
An-them sandwiches are some good eatin'.
I like that provolone cheese on mine with maybe a side of slaw.

Their sales have increased according to who? They are a private company we cant exacltly pull up their 10-k's. I could show you a plethora of businesses that have suffered serious long term losses as a result of politics can you legitimately show me the opposite?

Maybe they are more important, but IMO as someone who makes all his money in the stock market, I would say there is nothing more important than the bottom line, and the bottom line is what GW said was true, engaging in politics can only hurt a business, unless your business model has been based around politics like a starbucks or an aapl, but they are more engaged in what id call "Soft politics" so its just an image to them, they arent legitimatelty taking stances on political issues, they just sold themselves as a hipster brand.

Btw Tim Cooks stance, attacking indiana will be bad for business too, its not like gays and liberals needed anymore convincing to buy aapl products, aapl has that market cornered, but people in middle america will think twice before buying aapl products for their kids as a result of his actions.

A pissed off consumer is much more decisive than a happy one. It all comes back to the old adage, "You can sheer a sheep many times but skin him only once."

??? If I can't prove the positive because the data isn't available, how do you prove the negative????

Where are those numbers coming from? and what was their growth/estimates from before? All you are doing is showing me random numbers.

The negative can be proven based on all the businesses that have suffered the consequences in the past, based on basic business literacy that bad branding/bad image = bad sales.

To Thine Own Self Be True..........

The past several posts there seems to be the overwhelming tendency that "bottom line profit" is the only guide for business decisions. Maybe for some, but there are those that lead their lives and their businesses, if owned, as a reflection of their core beliefs - sometimes those core beliefs are based on religious principals. For those when put into a position of decision, profit vs. doing what they truly believe is right ..... well, it's much easier to be at peace with oneself and be able to sleep at night than worry about a few dollars.

Amen!

I accept that, and I can live with that, and if a person does it for morality reasons im not going to complain, infact i look up to the person who has the balls to take a moral stance, i was only pointing out that there is an economic cost to it, Which is a cost I wouldnt have the balls to bear.

Tendlover, You really need to learn how to use the reply button.

Edit: Trendlover has deleted his/her post after realising that the entire post was in the "quote" window in a garbled mess with someone elses posts. This is something trendlover does quite often, despite the fact there is an incredibly visible "reply" button in the bottom right corner, and it really is difficult to fuck up.
