Are We On The Brink Of Civil War?

Savage, the host of the nationally syndicated “The Savage Nation,” was commenting on recent developments that have escalated the anti-Trump “resistance,” such as comedian Kathy Griffin’s ISIS-style photo shoot of the decapitated likeness of Trump and the “Julius Caesar” play in Central Park featuring the assassination of a Trump-like figure.
Remind your snowflake buddy about the hate-filled Tea Party placards and signs about Obama. And don't get me started about Nugent et al. Oh, and remind your buddy that Obama was also portrayed as Caesar during his tenure:

Don't remember that, do you, snowflake?

Please stop trying to score points after a senseless tragedy. Be an adult for a change.

Then why are they able to turn out these massive crowds? Why are they able to shut down cities? I doubt there will be riots in Kansas or the Florida panhandle. Washington, DC may be a different story.

Massive crowds compared to what?

Peaceful idiots wearing vagina costumes in DC aren't the problem. The very small percentage of jerks in that protest were the problem. Again, flare ups at particular locations are front and center in the media. But taken in context of the entire nation's activities, this is nothing. Not even close to the level of resistance in the 60s, and that didn't lead to civil war.

TT, I am not predicting a replay of the actual Civil War. But we just had a situation where 40 or 50 republican congressmen and senators could have easily been assassinated by a leftwing thug. As we both remarked, it's baffling how he could have missed so many people at what was essentially point-blank range.

I know what you're saying, mate. At least I think I do. I just don't see the level of resistance and confrontation you are referring to occurring unless things get a hell of a lot worse.

I don't see it as "conservatives vs. Lefties/socialists". The conservative side does NOT want violence and a civil war. We want... The Lefty side however intends "winning at all costs"... which includes bloodshed.
:(

There are equally logical as well as historical arguments that it is the conservative side who provoke bloodshed. Only time will tell how it turns out. (And who wins to write the history?)

I don't think it is between conservatives and progressives, right and left, etc. (Labels that describe how people think or identify themselves). It is more likely between the privileged and the not privileged.

One thing that interests me, whatever happens: When the French revolution happened it took what... 6 weeks? From things being 'normal' to sweep the country where they would catch people of privilege and judge them. And that was without communications as we know it.

How quickly people can change and move in mass. That can happen here also. Still, things will likely happen here by due process. We are blessed or cursed to live in interesting times.

The French didn't have several hundred million firearms in circulation.

Hummm. How many of us have a large sharp blade and a rope? And why did the french have so many of them on hand? That is a head scratcher... or with a basket... a head catcher!

Who qualifies as "privileged"? Whites? Successful? The 1%? The 0.01%

The "privileged" I see today in America are either (1) the "takers"... who are believe they are "entitled to everything at someone else's expense", and (2) the political elites who believe they are above the law and are allowed to get away with it.

the country will survive [we somehow survived the 1860's didn't we?]

i think our current president is partly to blame for the current situation - can't think of a good word right now. We can debate how much...but he's partly to blame

Disagree. How lame... you say "it's Trump's fault, but you can't quite put your finger on why"... but it's still Trump's fault somehow.

Trump has done NO harm to America. Yet Odumbo did immense harm to our country while you never uttered a peep.
