But then the money DIDN'T BUY their happiness. They were already happy people. Money simply helped them afford some enjoyable leisure. I think you are confusing what makes someone shallow. Being happy while having money doesn't make someone shallow. Being happy ONLY BECAUSE of money (or unhappy ONLY BECAUSE one does not have it) does make someone shallow!

This is very true. Being without money definitely provides experiences that help aide life's education and character building, although it doesn't necessarily mean you will have a good education in human experience (since some people with money only roll over and never even try to persevere).

And it is all relative of course. While we have both been somewhat "without money," I don't think either of us knows what it is life to starve or to live with our entire family in a shanty.
 
no. you are right. and I don't think it's wise to wish for it. I think it's wise to try to raise the standard of living for all through application of the truth.

None of this is to say that money has no importance. It is important to be able to pay your bills and subsist. While money cannot buy true happiness, being in severe debt can cause a good deal of unhappiness. This is because a person in very heavy debt is forced to spend so much of his or her time worrying and thinking about money, and money automatically becomes, to some extent, an issue of freedom (of buying one's freedom to be more specific).
 
Money is SO important that it threatens to take the place of God in people's lives. There are tremendous benefits for dealing wisely with it, and hideous consequences for failing to do so.

Absolutely Yes, Trading is ethical. Trading is a career where you aren't exploiting person, place or thing or being exploited by the same. Isn't that the core of morality and ethics.

Trading is pure as the driven snow. May the best contestant win. If I lose, I have myself to blame. If I win, I have battled the best, and the brightest, and have found myself the victor, this time. If I lose I can respectfully take my hat off to the victor because I know that the fight (win or lose) is the fairest fight I could ever be in. I feel tremendous pride when I win. Mostly because I am sure I that by placing my money at risk during battle, I have given another trader the opportunity to stand up with perfect equality surrounded by the armour they choose and prove to themselves that they are worthy of being in battle with me and if they win, they should swell with pride also, for I am not an easy adversary. Long live trading.

When I win, my wife stands naked at my feet, my wifes best girl friend stands naked by her side offering flagon's of beer and cheez whiz..Wheeewww, (well O.K. maybe not the last part):D :D
