I will point out that certainly in Canada and I think the USA as well, the party "lines" have become so blurred that it simple doesn't make sense anymore to use words like liberal and democratic interchangeably.

Well, there's something we can agree on. Liberals don't necessarily vote democratic anymore as the party has shifted so far left it bears little or no resemblance to the Dem party of 50 years ago, even 20 years ago. Too be fair the Repub party offers little to actual conservatives, so it's just as unfair to label all conservatives as republican. Both parties have abandon their core principles to appease the radical elements on either side of an argument. The result is the nation at large suffers the tyranny of the few.

This is exactly true. The people who get the most upset here are those with a sworn oath a particular political party, mostly radical leftists. The vote exclusively democratic because that's the party they have hi-jacked. Radical leftist like to call themselves liberals, something I take issue with as I am more liberal than not. Radical lefts are more of a mix. Communism, Marxism, Fascism are their true beliefs.

That is a very salient point. The liberals of the 1960's would be aghast at what has been lobbied for "in their name". Liberalism has become synonymous with fascism in recent years. This current administration makes Nixon look like child's play, yet they look the other way on every single issue.
