Anyone use CME Direct?

I used CME Direct a few years ago. I only used it for it's the ability to create options spreads that were not CME UDS and send out an RFQ-Request For Quote. I also very much liked the QUIKSTRIKE TOOLS. I did not like that it did not load or keep track of my positions, margin or P/L. Since Wedbush Futures has a relationship with a 3rd party software that did track those, and that only cost me $100/month, the combination was great for me. That software is called Object+.

So, my understanding is CME Direct is a better solution for Options traders, not Futures.... And why you don't use it anymore?
 
Well, I did not say that. I do think it targets active options users but I liked it for futures too. I do not have an active futures account right now. At the time, I just joined Lightspeed and had more time on my hands. Now, I'm too busy supporting current clients and talking to prospective ones to have time to trade.

No, that is not correct.

CME Direct enables you to access lit markets (Globex) and it's OTC clearing facility (Clearport) with one software. No retail trader will ever use Clearport since no institute will ever blocktrade with a retailer.

You don't need it. Continue using Sierra Chart

Yes, I agree. When I contacted Advantage Futures to open a new account, they talked about CME Direct as one of the platforms I can choose: https://www.advantagefutures.com/futures-trading-software-2/
It sounds a bit weird.....
 
I noticed I can find more information about CME Direct by searching with keyword "CME Direct" in this ET website. Please include quote marks around the keyword.
 
That's because Advantage clears quite a few Commercials and Hedge Funds with deep pockets that want to trade OTC Energy. My guess is that unless you are incredibly bucks up that trading exchange Swaps is out of your wheelhouse.

Mupps is 100% right - CME Direct {ClearPort} and WebICE {LCH} are used primarily for financially-cleared exchange regulated OTC products; usually Swaps. The Lion's share of the volume is in energy - especially Nat Gas and Electricity. At least that's what I used them for... :cool:

As a side note, you see some monstrous block trades in Crude come across the ticker...
