Let's drum up some demand for Jasdaq listed stocks so that IB will make this available. Sick intraday volatility with a lot of these names, consistently some of the top domestic retail traded names like 4755 Rakuten.
Anyone trading Tokyo stocks with IB yet?

Caveat emptor - the TSE is not suitable for daytrading. It runs on clunky old systems that have very limited capacity. The first sign of a fast market and the tape can run an hour or more behind the action. They had to close the exchange several times during 2005 because they couldn't cope with transaction volumes.
Even electronic orders through ISV's like IB (through no fault of their own) is dreadful. You certainly cannot day-trade futures contracts like the full sized JGB and Topix. We've had instances where it takes 5 minutes to get a stop order placed when the market is moving. I expect the same is true of stocks listed on this exchange also.

In defense of the TSE you're way off the bat.
Daytrading here in Japan is booming. True, the TSE computers
are not new, and they will be replaced in 2008. In the meantime
the order capacity has been increased greatly.
However, they do not run behind in fast markets. They closed
the exchange one afternoon early this year as a precautionary
measure.
I daytrade stocks and JGB futures on the TSE and orders take
2 to 4 seconds in even the fastest markets. That speed holds
true for dealers too. So you are not at a disadvantage.
The Osaka exchange, where the big and mini Nikkei 225
futures are traded, replaced its computers this year. Orders
there are done in under 1 second.

FWIW, I was trading on OSE last night and it seems a lot better than it used to be. TSE used to be shoddy. But there has been a lot going on in Japan. Competition can do that. They were told to modernize their exchanges or die out. They are modernizing quickly (apparently)
I have not traded on TSE in ages but OSE is not the same exchange it was a few years ago. I will update this cause I am sure there will be challenges with these products as they grow. This new Nikkei Mini is going to be one the biggest product in Asia (IMO).
The only challenge with Japan is that it is expensive. No were near as expensive as it was in 2000. But still costly compared to other exchanges. Jasdaq has some wild arse stocks but again very costly to trade.

The Nikkei futures, both full size and mini, are traded on
the Osaka exchange.
The trading times are 09:00 to 11:00 for the morning
session and 12:30 to 15:10 for the afternoon session.
