I'm reading a book on Cons. These folk that post to pique our interest in some bullshit scamsite are called the "ropers". Before the internet they would be hanging out in the bars and hotels looking for out of towners with fat bankrolls that wanted to get in on some horse betting action or something. Now they can do a wider angle of attack and try to rope instead of one guy with a $100k a hundred guys with $1000, same shit different day...

I just got two email blasts from thestreet.com (I have an old email address on their mailing list) trying to sell this system. Reading the ad was hilarious - it takes snake oil to a new level. They even included a calculator on the webpage so you can calculate how much money you can make!
My question is, if this works so well why are they still trying to get subscribers to a chat room? If it worked as advertised, they would have thousands of members already and none would ever cancel. There would be no room for new subscribers.

room. Now there are close to 400.
This goes to show the power of a good aggressive email marketing campaign like
MB has.
If a third, pure guess, believe the hype, and it's very well presented, then MB is pulling in
$39,600 a month risk free, which is $475,200 a year, a sum I would be very happy
to make for a couple hours "work" a day.
The problem is that the more people who believe the hype and sign up expecting
to become millionaires due to the power of compounding 1% a day, the more
impossible it actually is as increasingly large numbers chase the same one or
two illiquid stocks.
