Anyone else workout in here?

I thought you might find this interesting.

WATER

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
(Likely applies to half the world population.)

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak
that it is mistaken for hunger.

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%.

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%.
Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

jmo, dont want to but in , but.........

Those are very controlled exercises, quite different from actually using every muscle, ligament connection etc in an exerted, "unstable" arrangement, like football.
Look at the gracie brothers, (the brazilian ju-jitsu guys) or virtually any olympic level gymnast, their power to weight ratio just destroys these strongman contestants.
Not to suggest they could pull a locomotive, but practical, effective body strength.

I don't know what you mean by "practical". Gymmanstics isn't practical. Gymnists are strong but so small, they don't have a lot of practical strength. I doubt most of them could move several grand pianos in a day or lift 80 lbs boxes for 9 hours.

WRT Strength-to-weight ratio, power lifters are stronger than gymnists.

umm, for anyone who reads this, I wouldn't blindly follow Matt's recommendation to take anavar for 3-4 weeks. It is an anabolic steroid and has risks such as stressing your liver, lowering your HDL and raising your LDL. If you're a woman, that much anavar will give you a mustache and do lord knows what to your period. Plus, no doctor would prescribe that much. 20-40mg is not a "moderate" dose. The theraputic dose is 5-7.5mg/day for men. Only athletes and bodybuilders would take 20-40mg/day, and it's obviously not under the care of a physician.

You're right, I shouldn't have just came out and said this without explanation. I post over at a few fitness sites and sometimes the AAS talk just slips out, I need to not do that here.

A few points 1) Oxandrolone hardly stresses your liver. A beer puts 10 times more stress on your liver than 20mg of anavar. 2) Oxandrolone does lower your HDL cholesterol but it does not excessively raise your LDL cholesterol. 3) I have seen some women take 5-10mg of anavar per day with amazing results.

I love how everyone is strung out by the media of how 'scary' anabolic steroids are. You should be more scared of all the high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, and second hand smoke you are intaking.

I will hault the AAS discussion, as, nothing good ever comes from it.

First, buy a tuning fork.

Second, read up on proper preparation (cooking, not - H).

"Combating the 'gas problem'

One problem that many people face in eating this group of foods is bloating and intestinal gas due to non-digestion of raffinose sugars. Let this not prevent from enjoying this healthy food group. There are ways and means to deal with the gas problem.

Never cook legumes in the water they have been soaked, because this water is loaded with raffinose.
Add a pinch of baking soda while cooking the legumes. In addition to removing raffinose sugars, it also helps the reduce cooking time.
If you are using canned beans, then thoroughly rinse them in lots of water. This will also help reduce the salt content.
Cooking legumes with a pinch of asafoetida is an age-old Aurvedic technique that helps prevent build up of intestinal gas.
If you are not used to eating legumes, start with a small serving and gradually increase the quantity.
If you still get into 'trouble', there is always Beano to rely on."

This is a solid post! NEVER cook legumes in the water they have been soaked, I mean NEVER.

Beano is a great product. I have used it before and was quite happy with the results.

Lol, i forgot all gymnasts are midgets:)
I meant getting the most out of what you've got, not trying to out -deadlift a heavyweight.
I used to do some damn hard work, climbing scaffolds, shoveling, sqautting, hurling around 35kg drill heads, jumping, shoving, lifting, clambering around like a monkey on a drilling rig.

Because of dodgy joints/injuries, i had to keep in shape as well as i could, and i found that heavy weight routines, like most bodybuilders routines, (or powerlifters workouts) just didnt seem to give me the extra power, and strength i needed.
I was lifting progressively heavier weights easily, but out in the feild, i couldnt really use the extra power, i presume because most lifts only go through a certain motion, leaving some of the muscular structure/overall joint integrity etc lagging somewhat.

Everyones different, but i found switching to quite light weights and much higher reps, as much bodyweight stuff as i could handle, (hindu squats, chinup bar exercises etc)combined with the occasional blast of static lifts/exercises for the power (instead of just heavier weights) i got much better results, power i could actually use, and more of it.

Thats what i meant by usable, or practical strength, and i agree, gymnastics is dumb, but id like to see the average fitness freak try and do a crucifix, and i sure wouldn't have any complaints if i was built like one of those guys.:)

Of course, im a lardo now, so maybe its redundant, but thats what i found.:(

NO I do not.

Hi Matt

I had asked earlier about alkaline effect of Apple cider vinegar. Is it safe to take this product? Please comment. Thanks
