There is a balance between acidic and alkaline, all protein is acidic. But too much food that was originally alkaline has been turned acidic. That's the problem.
Learn how to fast to detox, it has always been the best way. Juicefasting works wonders. Colon cleanse is a must. Liver cleanse, kidney cleanse and lymph node cleanses are relatively important.
Almost everything can be cleansed by proper fasting, just takes time. People have little idea about the difference between real starvation and simple hunger. Takes a while to transition your body into a state where it has to start eating itself. The process is quite different from what "experts" think happens. The problem is that storage fat is often so badly contaminated, the body has problems using it.
Physique, raw strength and real health do not have a lot of correllation. Genetics and race come into play a lot.

I just wanted to mention that these detox pads that you consider snake oil are quite effective. I wouldn't bash them until I tried them if I were you. You are absolutely right about the fat being so contaminated that your body cannot use it, that's the whole point of alkalizing your body.. Detox pads and ph drops are the fastest way to rid your body of acids and toxic wastes. Your suggestions are right on about fasting and cleaning yourself out naturally.
My ultimate concern is ridding your body of as much toxins as you can as soon as possible, hence my suggestion for the products.
Aside from you calling it snake oil, I have nothing further to add, thank you very much for your input. I would first like to suggest for you to give the detoxing goods a try before you call them snake oil.
