Anvil problems this morning?

Quote from Bobarino:

Pretty interesting guys, do you see particular venues stuck... and the bursts, do they happen in certain venues as well?

I dont really trade the thinner stocks, so I probably dont notice this either. However, I can tell you that if the orders are kind of sitting around doing nothing you may want to look at WHAT type of orders you send.

I had the tech support guys call Nasdaq about 5-6 weeks ago because I felt like I kept misisng out on volume. As it turns out, the orders were routed away about 4-5 times each and by the time they came back to NSDQ.... it was 4 seconds later and I was now at the BACK of the line.

Depending on the market, I switch over to ISO orders or on my box I send non pro-active orders. Even better, use the OUCH connection to NSDQ on Anvil (send an ISLD order, instead of NSDQ)

Now do me a favor, don't steal my volume!!! LOL :D

Excellent post. Iso orders are extremely important nowadays.

I am having all sorts of problems today. I keep getting logged off and then when I get logged back in, my p/l is not refreshing. Anyone else having issues today?

No issues here, and I am remote from the West Coast.
I bought a new router last week and it certainly has helped with my speed.

:)

No issues for me either, maybe check your ISP or your internal networking

getting logged off alot today with the increase in volume to the downside

My boxes stayed up, but my hand trading GUI went down after an outage.... I was dark for about 10 minutes and then no issues. Glad it was lunch time though, I at least got a few minutes to get some sushi!!

No unwanted executions, and it appears to have been related to a bad network card and how it handled compression

Again, it is always important to troubleshoot what could be the issues on your end in regards to your connection to the Internet, what kind of router you are using, how many times you have the cable split, etc.

- - - All of this can be most important factors ( signal to noise ratio ) and as a result, in how stable your connection is to your trading platform. If you are not sure, have a tech from your broadband company come out and test your connection via the software on his laptop.

You'd be surprised at what he might find.

:)

Hi everyone,

I have been have some problems with my connection all week.

I just called my cable company(Cablevision) and they suggested their Boost service.

It cost 9.95 extra a month with the first 30 days free.

The technician checked my modem and signal remotely and made sure all connections were fully functional. Packet loss? and other technical stuff.

We ran a speakeasy speed test before and i was dowloading at 11mp per second.

After he enabled the Boost service he reset the modem and we tested again. The results were 31 mb per second!

So, I bought a ridiculously fast computer, upgraded all my network software, and now have the fastest internet connection on the planet!!

This should do the trick.

I will let you all know next week.

Have a great weekend

Bob
