Another school shooting

I see now where you are going. Well put. A decision on values and priorities needs to be made. Guns or school. While not that hard a decision for most normal people to make, I can see where some rugged individualists would struggle mightily with the "conundrum."

It’s a real choice that we make everyday and it’s sick. We have a sickness in America and it’s in the “pro-gun”, NRA voter. These people accept the most immoral of all evil based on lies and fear.

My solution, which doesn't involve giving 10 year olds loaded firearms.

Lets do that but it’s not enough. Trained law enforcement couldn’t stop this shooter. Keep trying.

There's a sickness, alright. You just haven't quite pegged what it is.

Again, I don't need to keep trying. My suggestion works. Your suggestion (giving kids loaded firearms) is lunacy. Even your fellow liberals here know it - they're just being polite.

Trained law enforcement DID stop the shooter. The problem was that there wasn't trained law enforcement at the school. The district had one SRO and that officer was at the middle school when this happened.

Trained law enforcement couldn’t stop the shooter from getting in the school yesterday. After he murdered the kids they got him. The goal is to prevent the murders not kill the shooter after the murders. Now we are back to arm the kids because your solution isn’t enough.

There was NO trained law enforcement at the school. The officers responded to his crash and chased him to the school, where he gained entry ahead of them. Had there been a gate to prevent his entry, and an officer guarding the school, he would never have been able to make it to a classroom to commit these horrific acts.

You need to examine what happened before thinking you know.

I will not be surprised if they pin the problem on the Police about how they engaged the shooter:
  • The shooter ran into the school after being chased there by the Police.
  • Police trapped the shooter in a classroom full of students...he was in that classroom for about 30 minutes prior to being shot dead but only after the shooter had killed 19 students in that classroom.
I'm now imagining all those kids in that one classroom. They must have been screaming after realizing they were trapped in that room with the gunman and nowhere else to go.

There were survivors from that classroom. We should hear more news about what the survivors will say about how the Police engaged the shooter as the shooter begin shooting the kids.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone on that street used their cell phone to record the activity of the Police outside as the shooting started considering the Police had already been chasing the shooter which then resulted in him crashing his vehicle in a ditch near the school.

In a tactical situation, Police should have alerted the school as they were chasing the car towards the school in which the security at the school could have then been armed and ready at the doors...essentially locking down the school.

Maybe the shooter shot his way into the school by entering a classroom window ???
