Another school shooting

No. I wish I was. These children have a right to protect themselves and not be sitting ducks.
The rational part of a teen's brain isn't fully developed and won't be until age 25 or so. And you want to give all of them guns? Surely you're playing devil's advocate. If every kid in school had a gun, eventually, there would probably be daily shootouts over lunch money. And let's not even discuss crossfire.

I agree with El OchoCinco. Hyperbole. But you do paint a stark picture that the crazies seem to embrace.

No. Not like that but perhaps an emergency supply of guns in every classroom. And I have considered arming the teacher, arm them too but there is no guarantee that a teacher can protect their students. Armed and trained law enforcement couldn’t stop this shooter. Nineteen 10 year olds opening fire at the same time probably has a pretty good chance though.

And let me add none of this is rational as a society. Unregulated guns everywhere is dangerous as hell and fucking crazy.

Most teachers probably don't want anything to do with guns. I would not be surprised by a mass exodus if such a law were enforced.

An emergency supply of guns in every classroom? What could possibly go wrong...

Which brings me to the next rationale, then end school. I never said this was a good option or good for society. It just is the logical thing to do if we are committed to unregulated guns in America. If we cannot protect children then they must be allowed to protect themselves. If protecting themselves is too dangerous to continue the institution of education then we must end education. It is better to be an uneducated adult than a murdered 10 year old morally. It will destroy a lot of society.

So many gun laws on the books yet no one goes to jail when they are caught.

They just plea to minor offenses and are back on the street because of idiot
judges, prosecutors, most of all voters are to blame.

So shut up and stop electing idiot DA's and judges.

Judges are elected officials so, I try not to vote for incumbents who have done squat enforcing US laws as written. If more voters took the time to remove incompetent judges in office by voting them out of office, maybe, US laws on guns will be enforced as it should be!

In Chicago, the city banned assault weapons. Shootings by assault weapons is dramatically down in Chicago. Unfortunately, now multiple shootings mainly occur via handguns that are typically gang-related.

Yet, gun dealers in Indiana and Kentucky have been aggressively trying to get their assault weapons into Chicago...some have been using military soldiers on active duty for hire to transport assault weapons from Indiana/Kentucky into Chicago.

My solution is to arm the kids. If we can’t protect them then they at least deserve a fighting chance. Are you against kids having a fighting chance. I guarantee you there are 19 children in Texas that wish they had a gun yesterday. Can you even imagine the horror of these kids? The pain and fear?

Giving a gun to 3rd and 4th graders isn't going to make the overall situation regarding school violence any better. I cannot believe I am having this discussion with an adult.

I see now where you are going. Well put. A decision on values and priorities needs to be made. Guns or school. While not that hard a decision for most normal people to make, I can see where some rugged individualists would struggle mightily with the "conundrum."

Actually I can’t believe you would put kids in such a defenseless position. What kind of an adult doesn’t want to protect kids in school? What’s your top line number on school massacres? How much of a narcissist are you? Unlimited massacres or say 10 per year? Where is your limit?

My solution, which doesn't involve giving 10 year olds loaded firearms.
