magnesium, you no like? banjo, fred? how you no like mg? be good for you.
magnesium deficiency, you like that? naa
what are your thoughts on the dif between intra-cellular and serum magnesium levels as used by current standard medico's use of blood tests?

Dean gives a good biochemical explanation that can be verified in any decent life sciences text. if you were to explore dean's discussion at the cued spot in the youtube vid, it ain't too long at all, you could maybe go a step beyond the wiki blurb and see that what she says is factual and not shilling, selling, etc, she's informing anyone who takes 4 minutes, how to leverage that one small aspect of blood chemistry into a huge dif in health outcome, an 80/20 win, and a simple as can be way to prevent a progression of $ymptoms form gaining a foothold for preventable reasons in most cases, in her OPINION.

It is on You and anyone else to Guide Their Own Healthcare. Nobody ends up in The Last Box with you, lol.

Be your own expert.

Magnesium Metabolism
Introduction
Magnesium is the major intracellular divalent cation and plays an essential physiological role in many functions of the body1). Magnesium is essential for the synthesis of nucleic acids and proteins, and is an important cofactor for a wide range of enzymes, transporters. Magnesium has important effects on the cardiovascular system. Intracellular magnesium forms a key complex with ATP and has a key role in many other important biological processes such as protein synthesis, cell replication, and energy metabolism2).

"The total serum magnesium concentration is not the best method to evaluate magnesium status as changes in serum protein concentrations may affect the total concentration without necessarily affecting the ionized fraction or total body magnesium status. The correlation between serum total magnesium and total body magnesium status is poor5, 14)."

"...total body magnesium depletion can be present with normal serum magnesium concentrations and there can be significant hypomagnesemia without total body deficit1).

Hypomagnesemia is frequently undetected.
Measurement of serum magnesium concentration
-----in 1,000 samples-----
received for electrolyte determination showed that
-----only 10% -----
of the hypomagnesaemic patients had magnesium requested15). Thus, it has been suggested that magnesium should be determined routinely in all acutely ill patients especially in those with conditions, diseases, or treatment that may predispose to magnesium deficiency11)."

...that's what she said, lol. she being dr dean.
mercola? he has some articles that are interesting, but ...buyer be informed, nothing wrong with that. He has thousands of suggestions. aint nobody got time for that. 80/20. if there are a Vital Few Actions that can be taken, then those are of extreme interest and will generally resolve / prevent an array of entropic effects that time deals out, aka wear and tear, lol.

all in good fun. bring some facts. Who doesn't want the truth too just like you do fred? nobody has a monopoly on the truth.

seriously fred, go give a listen to the 5 or ten minutes starting at the cued spot on dr dean's magnesium screed. she lays out a cogent presentation of the facts of matter.
it'd be good to get your take on what she presents during that segment.
cued up
mg dist bod.jpg

fred, maybe scan a couple of journal articles while she speaks...
don't think you'll see mercola in here, lol, no worries.
as lp would say, "defy human nature, do the work yourself"

A little vetting goes a long way. Besides, silver bullets are generally the stuff of quackery. That was the first clue, and my cue to check her background.
what specifically did you find in your vetting, fred?
does it conflict with the message she delivers, and the info in the ncbi journal article?
mighty broad brush if not, my friend.
cheers

You gotta take CoQ10 with statins. Well, you need it regardless. 400mg at waking. Alternative is statin-induced cardiomyopathy. Ubiquinone is utilized to metabolize the statins. Find another cardiologist if he/she didn’t mention CoQ10.

if you just do one thing, this would be a good one to get right. this crap is used everywhere in the mill, and is in highest concentration in your ticker. hmmm cheers! lets go make some $.

Dude, nobody is going to read all of your shit. Mg is good. We get it. I take orotate before bed.
But would a diet of foods fairly rich in magnesium, along with an all-purpose multi-vitamin, be enough? The guy repeatedly referred to a discredited doctor labeled as a magnesium quack.
