Another over 50 years old thread

Just to see how others over 50 are doing healthwise. Im not happy that i need flomax and im not happy that i need a statin.
I do feel good and work out with weights as well as diet.
Its always nice to here from the over 50 guys.

Just dropped 15lbs to162lbs these last three weeks hitting the gym and being on the master cleanse. About to start a natural testosterone program to get my levels up.

I was getting a little puggy and discovered that having a high BMI and large waist was indicating that fat cells stored around the waist is part of the endocrine system and producing estrogen. I didn’t understand why I was so lathargic.

Training to have six-pack abs for the summer!

You might want to supply with K2/D3, that actually clears up your blood vessels. Cholesterol is just a marker (and not a very good one) not the cause of heart attacks.

Do you have relatives getting heart attacks?

Here is an interesting tidbit:

"People with homozygous FH (familial hypercholesterolemia) don't benefit much from statins and other drugs, which work in part by increasing the body's production of LDL receptors. They periodically need LDL apheresis, a dialysis-like procedure to filter LDL out of the bloodstream."

Some more bad news:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4338710/

Conclusions
Despite prescription of lipid‐lowering drugs, familial hypercholesterolemia patients still had significantly increased cardiovascular disease mortality compared with the general Norwegian population.

The good news:

Discussion
No significant differences were noted in all‐cause mortality between the FH patients and the general Norwegian population...
