Annoyed

$8 from day session.

Well, I could not have picked a worst time to add to my position. Shorted 2500 more HLF at 38 a few hours ago.
Covered the whole position 4500shares after hours at 46.

Nothing like a 27K loser to put ya back in line.

Oh well

Icahn got me good today. Talk about bad timing

man, that sucks. An expensive but valuable lesson right there (to avoid "headline" stocks).

I wonder how Icahn would react to talking to himself. I'm thinking the result would be bloody. I sure wish when I announced that I had a position in a stock that it would shoot up more than 10% every time. I'm pretty sure that would give me enough of an "edge" to do pretty well.

ET needs more honesty like that. You can make it back, just don't go on tilt.

As one who shorts frequently, my heart goes out to you. But your post underlines how important it is when shorting to stay away from anything in the spotlight. And HLF sure has been in the spotlight.

Thanks for posting your pain.

one way to prevent this sort of thing is to hedge your position (use less than 10% of position value) to buy otm calls so you would prob end up breaking even vs taking a huge loss.

Bummer.

I've been smoked like that, short AND long, in "safer" ETFs. It's enuf to make you take up drinkin'!

And what's really great is when the ol' Market twists the knife a few times and drops a lot soon after you cover... :(
