And we had another performance bond increase starting tonight on the equity indices, so that leaves less wiggle room. Need this war to end.

It's this that made me switch to day trading. If I can't rely on the margin being consistent, then I can't rely on my strategies being backtested properly.

On the other hand... Margins on forex have been remarkably consistent for a long time. Hmmm...

Yeah IB usually gives lower than overnight if your account is big enough but when volatility strikes, oh all of a sudden they can't do it. Day trading means I don't care about overnight anymore.

Unfortunately, it's a double edge.

It's not enough to kick-off a significant lightening of the shorts. Along with end of rollover, perhaps it did play a role in this weeks low-volume rally-mode though.
