I didn't see much to make me worry. Maybe more than 50% of the float. That's why I bought October Puts...if they expire worthless I'll make money other ways. I'm sure I'll do just fine, I've done very well up to this point.

17% of the float is nothing.

AMZN is overvalued by most measures but short interest equaling 17.7% of the float is not "nothing".

Good luck with your position.

It's highly unlikely to create a short squeeze and I thought that's what we were talking about? If not then I misunderstood and 17% is not nothing, but it's not enough to create a short squeeze in my opinion.

As you know, trading is about probabilities and having your short of choice be the 5th most heavily shorted stock in the S&P500 is not tilting the probabilities in your favor, IMHO, especially when the stock has strong upward momentum in the midst of a powerful bull market.

I like my odds of it falling from here sometime well before October to a point that makes it profitable for me. I understand your point.

I expect the market to take a breather or move down slightly by the end of summer and AMZN will be top of the list of a lot of people to sell while it's still valued so high, that's my perception and feeling and one of the reasons I've decided to buy the Puts.

I don't have a load of money in them and I know what I'm up against, but I feel my odds are good and that the stock can easily get crushed during earnings season because it's almost guaranteed their financials will make anyone holding the stock at these prices nuts. Some stocks can hold rich valuations, I don't think AMZN can/should/will.

Good luck bro. :D

And crackheads aren't that crazy, in comparison to PCP-heads.

Amazon can trade higher while being overvalued, but it's clearly overvalued unless it's 2000 again.

If you don't think Amazon is overvalued trading at a completely bloated PE with horrible margins, I'd like to see a stock you think is overvalued. What did Cramer say was overvalued recently? :p

looks just like 1999 today with AMZN up over 10, I would not be surprised to see AMZN up to 65 by mid summer and nearing 100 by the end of 2007. I know its quite sad but anything is possible in this market.

100 is ever so close.

AMZN reminds me of 1999.

AMAZON!!! 100% UP ROOM TO GO!!!
