As a faux Canadian you probably dont know how to cook a loon, but if you were a real Canadian you would.

1) Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add salt as desired.

2) Put plucked and cleaned loon in pot.

3) Place large stone in pot with loon.

4) Let simmer/parboil for minimum of four hours.

5) Use large fork to keep checking the stone for tenderness. When the stone is tender, so is the loon.

I have Rear-Ender on ignore, but I have been over this with him a few times and his reply is usually that he is squatting there in Toronto and things are okay for him. He is typical of the newer immigrants who come from some country and take shots at Americans and pretend to be Canadian but won't reveal their country of origin because that has a pile of problems too. But then when you play along with them and treat them as Canadians just for fun, they dont have much knowledge or interest in Canada as a country. The newer wave of immigrants in Canada and the U.S and elsewhere tend to just be economic squatters looking for a place to make a buck but other than that what goes on elsewhere in the country is not of much concern.

But yeh, the Canadians treatment of the First Nations people is one of their major dirty little secrets.

That is the thing with the environmentalists. They give a pass on other countries like China which is one of biggest polluters on the planet while, raking the US over the coals when the US atleast, have some pollution controls. Canada's oil sands is another huge environmental mess. The reason there is no agreement by countries on reigning in pollution is some of the biggest violators and sources of pollution have rigged the rules to favor themselves! Do they think all the other countries are stupid? That is why the US walked out on the climate change agreement! Of course, if they really held countries accountable, those with advantages now will all lose them! No different than unfair trade practices engaged in by protectionist countries like China and the bloc of European Union countries while, blaming the US for seeking fair trade deals?
