Alternatives to Esignal

Yes, but why do you weigh in on a product when you apparently have not experienced it yourself nor have the required skills to properly evaluate it? Are you posting all day commenting on everything and refer others to Google pages?
Or are you shilling for Multi charts?

Like I said, the broad consensus is poor. I'm not arguing that it can or can't auto trade properly, nor am I a programmer.
Common sense led me to go with a product that was widely praised, and it worked out for me.
 
That is not consensus. Nonsense. More like the opposite. Reading about feedback of those who intensively used Amibrokers it seems the product is well liked and appreciated. Most of the complaints I read about were by people who had no frigging clue about how to utilize Amibroker's features due to lack of programming skills. Again, it makes no sense that you comment on products you yourself have not properly used. You also don't comment on books at Amazon you have not read or do you?

Here are just a few links of reviews, mostly positive and supportive of Ab. The negative reviews are clearly by those who don't know how to program. It's like someone complaining about that motorcycles are not practical or usable originating from the fact that they don't know how to ride a motorcycle.

The way I see it different people need different features. I for one do absolutely no automated trading and my program skills amount tinkering with thinkscript. I for one think aesthetically, Ninjatrader has some of the best looking charts with unlimited flexibility for indicators but I have suffered freezes and hangups with the platform itself. On the other hand, Sierra Chart looks somewhat archaic charting wise and I didnt like it at first. In the end its rock solid, uses no resources compared to NT and has more tools that I find useful built in. Their support is also very quick and helpful. If I was only trading futures Sierra wins in my book.

The problem is I trade equities too and sierra just doesnt have the tools like Esignal does or Lightspeed, Sterling etc which are geared towards equities or multi asset classes with their scanners, option chain modules etc. Basically looking for an Esignal type workspace that doesnt cost me 300+ a month :S Anyone try Metastock?

Thanks for that info. Regardless of the complaints, I've always had my curiosities about Amibroker in regards to auto trading. I wouldn't mind evaluating it, but converting my custom Powerlanguage strategies into AFL might not be so simple. I'd hire a programmer if I knew it could get done right.
 
That's seems contradictory to me. You want customizability, you asked about custom features no platform offers out of the box. So if you want custom features that means you need a platform that offers customizability, which in turn means you need to utilize the scripting or OOP language the platform offers. Amibroker offers that, so do other platforms, though imho at much higher price points and more overhead. But what you are asking is pretty much non existent. What you want does not come out of the box hence you need to get your hands dirty with some coding or have someone create it for you.

Actually, we will be releasing DOM trading for futures shortly and are planning do add P&L curves analysis for options.
