Alternative charting software for Interactive Brokers?

Can you draw Fibonacci retracement or trend line?

The trend lines are just standard features available in MS Excel. Excel doesn't have fibs I don't think.

You can probably download chart add-ons for Excel that can do more advanced stuff.

I just chart really math heavy stuff with it because TWS has problems doing what I want.

The indicators in TWS get all messed up when you create complicated virtual securities. Things like synthetic indexes, spreads involving futures and indexes, rate and index spreads, etc.

You can do very heavy mathematics processing in Excel. Anything that the API can pull can be brought into the Excel worksheet (bid, ask, ask size, etc.) and it will chart clean.

It's not perfect, but useful enough for what I need it for. I have ThinkorSwim as well to chart spreads and synthetics.

For general charting, I would just get TDA ThinkorSwim and use TWS for execution and/or supplemental charts, monitoring, and the API.

Do you know the cost of ThinkorSwim if use TWS data feed? Thanks!

You can't use the IBKR data for ThinkorSwim. But, the fees for ThinkorSwim data are very low. I would say it is the best charting supplement to IBKR TWS for the price. Best value.

It looks like that Ninjatrader is free if use TWS data feed, MotiveWave is no free, right?

Yes MW is not free. If TWS data feed is enough for you, i would go for NT. I'm not sure if it's free if you want to trade.

This is pretty much my strategy. I've never traded with TDA but I really like ThinkorSwim.

I've tried MotiveWave but I'm not a fan. ThinkorSwim is better, and it's free.
