Al Gore - Democratic Party candidate in 2008.

Regardless what our logic tells us, there's no chance the Dems will be able to push Obama aside. For many reasons, including the perceived long term benefit of their party, he will be their candidate. Unless, of course, something extraordinary happens, like a major scandal, etc. Which gives McCain a real fighting chance this time.

I agree with this completely. Obama is the nominee barring a huge unearthed scandal (possible).

Also gives Mac an even chance. Obama has serious electoral college obstacles to counter Mac's problem with being a Republican, which obviously isn't so popular now.

And for that reason, I don't want anyone here to think that I am a Republican! More like an Independent who happens to vote republican most of the time - actually, more like always, but who counts? :)

No, seriously, many people are acting this way and for this reason, imo, current polls are underestimating McCain's appeal and overestimating Obama's polularity: in many circles these days, supporting Obama (or, at least, claiming that you are) is the cool thing to do. Let's see what really happens next November when people have to get up and go out to push that button.

SouthAmerica: I am 100 percent sure that if he is the Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama is going to lose the general election in November 2008.

But I can live with president John McCain, since I am too old to be drafted and to be sent to some war around the world, I am not a woman, and I am a white Caucasian.

On the other hand, if Barack Obama loses the election in November 2008 there are some minor consequences attached to the fiasco. You can read it at:

If Al Gore becomes the Democratic Party nominee and the black population decides to stay home on Election Day in November 2008 then the black population will have to pay the price of a McCain election as described on the above posting.

If the choices in November are vote for Al Gore or for John McCain and the black population chooses John McCain then……What can I say?

If Barack Obama is the Democratic Party nominee he might win on the state that elected him senator. Obama is going to carry at least one state on the general election, and I would not be surprised if he managed to carry 2 states after all there are some states with large black populations.

There are plenty of things to say. First, that the democratic party should have just played by the rules and took the candidate with the most delegates because they got the same feared outcome. You could say that, Al Gore would then have lost twice and maybe he'll now get it. You could say, the democratic party needs to start being honest and fielding quality candidates as America sees them and not as the party wishes them. You could say that the democratic party should start to have real foundations for the candidates to stand on and not just a bunch of poll driven and formed talking points.

And you could also say, CanyonMan00 was right about a lot of what he said before the election. I CAN live with either candidate winning the race. The funny piece here is, so can you! :)

States with large black population have a much larger conservative white population.....La, Miss, Ga, Ala etc etc

Al Gore would suffer the same fate.....maybe win 10/12 states...
