A little straight talk is needed here.

Family, to mormons, means other mormons. Blood relatives mean little to mormonism.

If there is a family of 4 of say, catholics, Mother, Father, son and daughter, and one of the four decides they want to become a mormon, they are to leave the catholic house and move into a mormon one to become a family member.

You must be one of those mormons that swallow the whole shebang.

I for one have had the privilege of being excommunicated from the cult. I've witnessed the brain washing of juvenile's and the encouragement of same to leave their blood family's to be adopted by upstanding members of the mormon church.

I've also witnessed first hand the teaching that catholicism is a cult and catholicism needs to be destroyed.

The best part about mormonism is the belief that american natives (indians) are decedents of jews. Can you believe that? They still teach that crap to this day.

Yes...democratic strategists don't need a Karl Rove to discern their winning strategy in 2008.

A Gore/Obama ticket would easily trump anything the repubs could possibly come up with; and maybe by historic margins. It's the most obvious, sure winning ticket of the century.

But...being democrats...they still have a chance to screw it up.

I am not mormon, but I know a few. Seem to be normal people to me.

All religions work on the young to bring them into the church, whatever
church it is. Not only mormons. You know that.

Maybe you live in Utah and people actually are brainwashed into
leaving their families and "adopted" by "upstanding" members of
the mormon church. There must be a reason why anyone would
leave their family for a church. Maybe the church is better than the
family they came from. A lot of families are dysfunctional to say the least.

Child abuse, incest, drug abuse, alcoholic parents and
siblings are things that will drive anyone away from a rotten family.

Just because you are born into a family doesn't mean you are owned
by your parents. You don't owe them anything either. At age 18 you
become an adult who can make up your own mind as to how you
want to live your life. We call this "freedom" in America. You are
free to believe in gOD, in ghosts, in aliens or be an atheist, ect,...

Show me some evidence where mormons teach that Catholicism
is a cult and needs to be destroyed. And tell me why they would
teach such a thing? You must know right?

As far as teaching that Native Americans are descendants of Jews,
I just read at wikipedia.com that some mormon scholars "view
Lamanites as (1) small tribe among many in the ancient Americas".

Also, it says that "nothing in the Book of Mormon precludes migration
into the Americas by peoples of Asiatic origin".

Also I just read that mormons teach that the families of Lehi, ect...
traveled from the Middle East circa 600 B.C. to the America's by boat.

Maybe it was one big gigantic canoe...:p

Only thing that can save Reps from a landslide defeat is a Gore no show/no draft and Hillary gets the nomination.

Even with Hillary, Reps lose - but a closer race.

Amazing to me how stupid Reps are to push forward with extremists like Rudy and Romney and ignore the respect and stature that McCain would have with moderates, swings and undecideds. People in the middle will hear McCain out - - they will not listen to Romney or Rudy.

I think Demorats are delusional thinking either one could win.

I disagree. Although America genuinely wants a Dem in charge now, I believe it won't happen unless McCain wins the Rep nomination. Yes, I believe the guy is stable, and has great common sense ideas. BUT, his war views will sink him vs anybody. Take a look at RealClearPlolitics.com which has a running head-to-head poll of Rep vs Dem, and McCain loses to each candidate (a few polls show him tied with Hill).
Then look at Rudy. He cleans up. Whether deserved or not, America views the guy as a hero. He definitely has flaws, but the public just seems to ignore them. Possibly more important, he has the ability to compete in NY and Cal. A Repub taking either of these states, and game over. As we saw in 2000, the popular vote is secondary.

Unless he says something really stupid (which he has a habit of doing), I believe he will even get the Repub nomination. Yes, he has some liberal beliefs, but the Right see him as the lesser of three evils, and the only one that can win. Although Romney is religious, he has the "wrong" religion (I think that is BS personally). McCain is doing an obvious flip flop to pander to the Right, and they know it.

They are going to actually nominate the most liberal of the three.

I also think Gore could win, if he had the funding. Already too late for that, and I don't think he will run vs the Clinton machine. He has first hand knowledge how nasty that can be.
