to some extent, i have to agree with Mr AIPAC.i do empathize with those who hate israel and america but i do not sympathize.
The reason being, just like the zionists, nazis and neo-cons, those who hate will always generalize. those who hate blame the religion or people when they should be blaming organisations/governments/instuitions and (so called) religious leaders.
although hamas, hezbollah, etc were created in response top israeli/US terrorism, it was more of a knee jerk reaction that has become permanent.
having said that Wael, yes there are many people who do not understand the danger of zionism. even mosts of the zionists who live in israel do not understand the trap they are in. then again, the neo-cons do not understand the danger of zionist christians.
so what do you do? very simple. educate. do not hate. maintain composure. try to understand the mindset of the average supporter of jewish zionism.
like i said, most jews who migrated to israel are european jews. they do not have a history with arabs and are not aware of their arab/jewish history.
they are brainwashed from day one about how the world is against tehm and they are facing another holocaust unless they support zionism.
we hear the same rhetoric in the west about the danger of arabs/muslims and it's important to kill people in the middle east lest they bring the war home.
put yourself in their situation. all they know is that if they do not support or fight for israel, they will face another holocaust.
the solution to this is to reach out to zionists and educate them about their history with arabs and muslims. especially their history in islamic spain.
how many jews or people know that the 2nd largest jewish population is in iran and the openly declare that israel does not speak on their behalf. jews in morrocco, egypt, tunisia, algerai prefer to stay where they are rather than take teh $30k offer and move to israel.
these jews are aware of the past. we need to get in touch with them so they can wield some influence on their israeli brethrens.
it will take time. we need to separate judaism from zionism. we need to engage in dialogues even with the hardcore zionists.
let them believe in their ideology but also present them with facts (with dignity and respect).
it is imperative that they understand that they face no threat. that they have a history/place in the middle east. always have, always will. they have the right to be in in the middle east. just not at the expense of the Palestinians.
the powers that be propagate that jews cannot live without zionism. that israel cannot exist with zionism. that arabs and muslims will destroy their temple. that removing zionism is the same as removing israel.
reality is that when ever muslims took control of al-quds/jerusalem, they forgave their enemies and offered them a peace treaty. the holy land was not filled with checkpoints and there was no restriction on jews and christians. in fact, they were protected from their own.
educate, educate, educate. you are right when u say that very few people know the situation. however, most people do know that there are 2 sides to every story and the constant garbage spewed by the media and the government is just plain scare mongering.
just like most people believe that bush lied about 9/11. don't know about what but they still know that they have been lied to.
if they believe they have been lied by bush, do you honestly think they believe the propaganda about israel?
even 40% of israeli jews (brainwashed) OPPOSE the wall. why? bcos, intuitively, they know it's wrong.
it's also interesting to note that these brainwashed jews are sick of going overseas only to be treated with contempt when they show their israeli passport.
they also want ot visit the no-go zones like the west bank and gaza strip. in fact, some of them would like to travel the middle east and share a cup of coffee with their arab cousins.
how do i know this? one of my friends visited palestine and israel to give a speech. he was there to talk about the history of arabs and jews. he got the above feedback after the lecture. his thesis is focused on the arab/esraeli conflict:

we just need to be patient and reach out to these people. educate them. also, it's important to educate the arabs. they think that jews control the world. i would say jews have a strong influence in this world but ultimately, god controls the world.
no empire/civilization ever had a monopoly. prepare for a shift in power. in the mean time, get out there and educate with patience.
become a pro-jewish anti-zionist. don't hate the people. if anything, point the lies of their government. this applies not just to israel but also the US and UK.
people are sheep. we know that. so why blame them? they're only concerned about the safety of their own and that of their family.
inallaha maa sabhereen.
