Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the Intelligence Committee's ranking Democrat, said in an open letter Wednesday night to the committee's chairman, Republican Devin Nunes of California, that he and other Democrats on the panel had since learned that the version of the memo that was sent to the White House isn't the same memo the committee voted to release on Monday.

Schiff described the differences in general as "substantive" and "material" alterations that committee members "were never apprised of, never had the opportunity to review, and never approved." That means "there is no longer a valid basis for the White House to review the altered document," he wrote.

According to a transcript of the hearing that was made public Wednesday, Himes pressed Nunes to clarify whether the final version of the memo, if it were released to the public, would be "word for word" the same document that the committee reviewed or whether it would be "redacted or altered in any way."

According to the transcript, Nunes responded: "We will send the content over to the White House, and the president has five days to either agree with us that it should be made public, or the president could say that he does not want it made public."

Schiff called that response "misleading" Wednesday night — an assessment that Himes agreed with.

"In a formal meeting, I asked Chairman Nunes not once, but twice, if his memo would be released precisely as we reviewed it," Himes said on Twitter. "He said yes. Then altered it."
Schiff clearly lied and Nunes was correct. That makes you wrong again!

I have made up my mind, but my opinion is not necessarily fact, and I remain open to new information that would convince me that I am wrong. When I am clearly wrong, I have no problem admitting it. I've had lots of practice making mistakes over the years.

I haven't made up my mind re the so called memo, by the way. But it seems to me that there is plenty to raise our suspicions here.
Have you made up your mind now?

You supported an independent counsel for Hillary?
Hillary is not who the FBI reports to, either directly , or via the chain of command. Therefore the investigation of Hillary's handling of emails on her personal server does not require an Independent Counsel. There are situations when an investigation is being headed by a person who works for an agency that reports directly, or via the chain of command, to a person of interest, or who could become a person of interest, in the investigation. Then it is necessary to use an Independent Counsel. That wasn't done in the case of the Mueller investigation, but it should have been.

Yeh sure. You have just made an idiot post. Just have Andrew Mccabe be in charge of her investigation, all while his wife is receiving 750, 000 from the party which Hillary was heading up as the nominee.

Why could go wrong there?

The issue is about conflict of interest, of which being in the chain of command is just one example BUT NOT LIMITED TO.

An argument could be made that an independent counsel would not have been needed for Hillary if the FBI were being properly managed and were not completely corrupt- but we can all agree now that it was/is.

Well Andrew wasn't in charge, Comey, a Republican!, was. Nevertheless, in our post "Citizens United" world, look where that kind of thinking takes you and you'll realize its absurdity. Now if you want to work for repeal of "Citizens," and taking money out of politics in general, I'm all for that.
