Advice

Thank you but as I wrote the system is not profitable because I don't trade it properly or with the required discipline. About 200 trades. The trades that were taken based on the rules of the system were about 90% profitable. The 20 trades that weren't destroyed the profits.

Well my friend.

You need to start thinking like a business man. Think as if you have a manager. what will you tell your manager who pays you to perform tasks correctly?

Are you going to say "sorry manager, I did not do the task correctly because I have no discipline"

Trade with discipline man , it is just that simple.

Big question please.

Why are you not trading with discipline?

And there's the million dollar question...
Respond with some answers why you are choosing to not trade with discipline and be honest.

I will go first. When I lost $2000 in March 2019, I lost money because I did not know where or how to exit my trades. Now I am working on exit strategies I can have confidence in being discipline to stick with.

Now you go. What is your problem with being discipline? I don't know is not an answer. Just imagine 2 fine women naked in the room next door to you, ready to fuck you senselessly if you be honest on your response.

Consider getting a partner to risk manage you. If you live in any major financial center join a trading arcade or hedge fund incubator and work with the other folks as a team. Fairly easy in US financial centers, but you show your location as overseas.

Hello All
Need some advice. Please. No BS.
I have thank Goodness an extraordinary system. The problem is I have shit discipline. Everything goes well for a few days/weeks, and then I make a mistake and destroy the balance. And it's always one of the same three mistakes. And they're dipshit stupid mistakes: Badly timed entry( before news), playing with the stop, or refusing to exit even when I know I'm wrong.
I'm fortunately not stupid (though you could argue stupid is as stupid does *Forest Gump), the opposite. FWIW, I'm a genius. Not arrogance, just a fact and part of the "story".
I know all the psychology about humility and admitting when you're wrong, etc. and have no issue with that. It's just I'm sure it will turn around and truth be told it 90% of the time does. But usually only after f$%&^%g my account balance.
So any advice would be appreciated.
TIA.

p.s. I trade scalp/short term. Generally under 10 minutes per entry.

If you can't easily and cheaply automate your trading system - keep a journal. Since you're scalping you should know that just about all the big swinging dick scalpers on the floor back in the day kept private trading journals. The journal will be more effective if you can manage to be brutally honest with yourself. The purpose of the journal, of course, is to eliminate mistakes through recognition and self-discipline.

If for some reason you cannot be accountable for yourself - you have deeper psychological self- sabotage issues. It's actually a fairly well known trait. The knowledge that our effort (as opposed to our genetics) is tied to our abilities can be threatening precisely because it's in our hands, and incredibly, puts us at risk for self-sabotaging our own success to protect ourselves—just in case our efforts are not enough. In other words - your logical, conscious mind is at odds with your subconscious.

Obviously you aren't a genius, despite what you think otherwise you'd not be seeking advice here.

If you truly have an extraordinary system but poor discipline (aka self-sabotage) - then the answer is to automate - fire and forget - let the system play out, keep out of the way and don't interfere with it.
