Adam's Vol Edge Trading Journal

Now you've done it! You've revealed your identity. Won't be long now for all the trolls to come out of the woodwork to high-jack this thread. Regardless, welcome back Brutal Master.

I take full credit for your success. =)

Yeah, but at least it will be the top thread.

For some reason I thought 132 call and 231 put fly's only referred to call/put fly's and not the iron. Didn't know you could also trade this set up with iron fly's.

It's a combo/synthetic. In the 231 put fly you replace the ITM debit vertical with a short call vertical. The difference is the box.

I made simple table to show you equivalents. These are the quantities long/short for each leg. Notice for 253/352 it's 1.5 for irons, this is to reduce to 1-lot so you can compare to other structures. But you can't trade 0.5 a contract, so you must trade 2-lot minimum. Second table shows conversion.

I have been trading options full-time for 9 years. I have had more positions go against me than for me. I blew out my first major PM account. This journal has been live for 6 days, I'm sure one of my trades very soon will be a loser. I have iron-clad risk management rules, I just haven't had the need to post them yet.

Also, these trades are not expensive to execute. I can post a detailed break-down of costs, but to summarize, in the table I posted earlier, I traded 54 option contracts, so to get in/out that's 108 contracts. I pay commissions of $0.50/per option contract. So, 108*.50= $54 total commissions to make $13,000. I'd say that's pretty cheap.

Dude is up $13K in a week of trading 5 lots (max). God forbid anyone actually post pics of their fills in RT and not BS hindsight. This place would be empty if that were a requirement. Like the BS from Jigsaw, Bobby and the rest. A bunch of fluffers.

Adam has produced the best risk-adjusted returns of anyone I've coached/worked with. No question.

0.4% given-up to comms. Yeah, horrific!

I am good at what I do because I learned from the best.

Maybe I blow out on Monday, maybe I don’t. But I assure you, it’ll be a marketable fill.

There will be a downdraft tomorrow night, surely. How far it will go is anyone's guess. At least American traders will be distracted by the Super Bowl. Go Chiefs, first SBowl in 50 years!

P.S. Futures open tomorrow night right at kickoff time for the SBowl. Is there a cabal? lol!
