If someone says a wall would help be a big help toward the effort, you hear them saying it will stop all immigrants. Again, you start getting dizzy once an issue involves more than one factor. You should stick to your day job putting caps on toothpaste.
Right, the wall is not a cure all. In fact it is a giant waste of money and will have little to no impact.
Too many people jumping the border to deal with in the court system is the definition of an invasion. We spend hundreds of billions of dollars on defense to defend the borders of Afghanistan, Iraq, South Korea and dozens of other countries. For some reason we cannot defend our own border however, despite the fact much of it is open terrain with a river marking it. They even sent Nat. Guard troops there but apparently gave them nothing to do
How freakin' difficult is it to put troops along the border? The sight of them will deter fence jumpers. And please no one say we can't do that because it violates posse comitatus. They are guarding the border, a core military function.

I don’t know, putting kids in cages seems pretty serious to me.
As to the military, they certainly can defend the border but only against other military forces and the like. Immigration and borders has its own jurisdiction of law. Trump can declare martial law if he wants the military to take on law enforcement responsibilities.
I agree, and although the "Trump Wall" will have, as you say, little impact on the problem of refugees coming across our border, it could have a negative impact in terms of our relations with our neighbors that could be quite costly in the end. There are far better long range solutions to the problem of desperate refugees seeking asylum in the U.S. than "a Wall". It's a very dumb idea.
