According to the donkeys at MSNBC, we are now running concentration camps.

Ahh, no. Obama expedited things faster by just releasing illegals into the community -never to be see again- as a way of dealing with the back-log.

That's a solution if your only goal is to run out the clock until Hillary takes over. That is not necessarily Trump's plan or the best plan for the country.

Wrong.

Obama expedited and deported more by being smart and focusing on criminals. These cases move through the system faster. Trump is mucking up the works by pushing decent people in good standing into the system which takes much longer.

This goes back to deference and limited resources. You are seeing Trump cannot actually deport more people than Obama because he is in actuality a bad manager of resources.

What I meant to convey was that I am OK with the separation on illegal border crossing, but not on the visa overstay issue (to go back to our original conversation)... Don't want to be separated from your kids? Cross at a normal border crossing and don't come illegally.
Ditto. I have exactly zero shits to give for people who knowingly enter our country illegally and risk being separated. Far more Americans are separated from their children every day by the military, courts, social services, etc.

The ink isn’t dry on Trump's executive order and the latest outrage is that Trump's detaining whole families. They want “catch and release” reinstated, never mind that it would incentivize human traffickers and drug smugglers. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile, which is why I'm against almost any new gun legislation (reciprocal CCW being one of the few exceptions).

But, according to leftists, “catch and release” is compassionate and humane despite incentivizing criminal activity. Why? Because it will continue to draw future demrat voters like a magnet. Contempt for Americans who disagree is virtuous but don't you dare show anything but love and compassion for illegals. Why, maybe we should even should pass a new law for them alone: if you commit a crime and you have a child, you get a free pass. Screw 40,000 homeless veterans, 500,000 additional homeless citizens, and any other American who needs help.

Frankly -- the more leftists push this horseshit -- the more it makes me want to throw them all out. Our priority should always be U.S. citizens first, not last.

So I'm watching the First Lady have a discussion with the people running one of these holding centers that are housing these children. I must say I'm impressed with the people doing this difficult job. All Hispanic, nearly all women, and obviously making every effort to make the best of things in an extremely difficult situation. Frankly makes me proud of the way these dedicated people are performing. Our disgraceful congress could take a lesson.

I watched the guy to her left deflect the question of how often are the kids able to speak to their family. He gave a bunch of red tape mumbo jumbo and didn’t give a clear answer. I suspect very few are talking to any family which makes me think that reuniting these children with their family will be very difficult.

Many parents, I suspect, may actually just give their children over to the government by not claiming them. This policy was poorly conceived.

Oh, it's totally about more voters. They don't honestly give a shit about the people on the border.

No. Obama released back into the community bigtime along with the deporting which kept the net number of people being here high. Trump wants to keep people out and also stop or drastically reduce the number being released back into the community- who ultimately no-show at their hearings.

Let's go over this again because it is radical and complicated for you. He wants to do: Reduce the number coming in and reduce the number who have come in who are released in to community and to increase the number of deportations of people already here. I know that is three factors so are probably already gasping for air.

The answer he gave was that the kids, when it's actually verified that it is the parents/relatives of the children talk to them twice per week, 10 minutes each time. Try to set aside your political bias for just one moment and you might see what's actually happening.

Right. That’s the poorly conceived part. How many of those kids now that they have been separated have verified family members?

Think about this one, you just traveled 1,000 miles with your kid to give them a better life in America and now your faced with the prospect of bringing that kid back to the place you traveled 1,000 miles from. Are you going to claim that kid as a family member? I suspect many will not.

I’m sure he wants to send them to the moon too but there are not enough resources for that. Hence why I brought up resource management. Trump is mucking up the system.
