The left pretends to be shocked and outraged at the idea that there are consequences to bad decisions and irresponsible parenting. Maybe they are genuinely shocked, considering the delusional state most seem to live in.
I have yet to hear any open borders advocate suggest a viable option. Their position is we are Nazis for actually having a border. We should just hand them all bottled water and an application or welfare if they make it across the border.

Empathy isn't a policy. We have tens of thousands of border jumpers. What are we supposed to do? Ignore them? I desperately wish we could direct them all to the Bush estate so Laura could show us what real compassion looks like, but they have 24/7 armed guards so that isn't going to work.
The unfortunate fact is that there are laws on the books that must be followed. Break them, and you suffer for it. If you have kids and those kids don't have anyone else to care for them, then they suffer too.
Go to Mexico, or some South American country and break the law there with a visa overstay or enter illegally. See what happens to you and your kids.
Whatever you believe the numbers to be, that is no excuse to separate young children from their parents. Stop goosestepping to Trump's drum.
