if you're asking my personal feelings on whether there should be a law that locks up pot smokers for a year, I would tell you I do not agree with the law and think pot should actually be made legal entirely.
But just because I feel that way doesn't mean I accept violating the law. If it exists, it should be adhered to. Otherwise it opens up a whole host of laws that people feel they can break because they don't agree with the law. The law is the law. Don't like it? Get it changed. Otherwise, that's the way it goes, bro. And if you choose to violate the law as it is written, then you risk paying the penalty (and your kids as well).
Except there is discretion to how the law is enforced, which is why the feds don't make it a habit of locking up pot smokers. There was discretion to immigration laws as well, until sessions decided to take that away from immigration courts.
