a theory about good vs. bad traders

sure, everyone has a "system," even those playing negative edge slot machines

if anything, the past couple years showed just how unsophisticated some of the "sophisticated" players actually were

not a complete surprise for anyone who's had interactions with them and saw through the bs - not going to name names here but it's all over the news

my current theory on a quick way to tell the good vs. bad traders is that there's probably a positive correlation between level of pretentiousness and bad trading

it's strange how the universe brings you the answers when you were not expecting it
i remember coming away from my interactions with those-who-will-not-be-named feeling queasy, but it was hard to put a finger on it (or perhaps, it was hard to call out the bs without actual proof of their losses, as have now been made public)

in retrospect, maybe because they had to engage in that level of pretention because they were losers, and needed to manage their "street cred" even more fastidiously

lol, from now on i feel like i can see through them right away, and not feel guilty going against my best instincts doing so

I had to listen to a 64 year old Terry Brad talk about all his amazing scores. He did not once mention his failures at a pep rally I went to. Was he a bad Q? He seethed arrogance and hubris!

Agreed - the louder they are in trying to convince others how good/rich/successful they are, the more likely they are to be the opposite.
